Doug asked why in my posting "Steffi 0501-16" I left so much dark space on the left. This is a consequence of: 1. Besides cropping (of disturbances) I tend to post original images unless the postwork is determining the character of the image - see f.i. here :(http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=868902&Start=1&Artist=gwfa&ByArtist=Yes ) 2. usually there are a lot of similar shots varying slightly the intended theme - and a final choice (e.g. for paper prints) may be determined by comments here... 3. sometimes I try to follow the rule of Golden Section: in this case it dertermines the vertical line of Steffi's nose through her bosom - i.e. I do not see the empty left but the "fitting" figure... An index may illustrate the choices...

Really nice seeing the contact sheets of how the session progresses, and then what you do in the final Gallery post. Good insight into the thought process.

Excellent post. Helps those who are new to, or never been in a, studio situation. I really do love to see the reactions of people to decisions I've made on an image (either in lighting, cropping or processing).
