I have Poser 4/Pro Pack and absolutely loathe the cat that's in the animals section. Too clunky and chunky and it's the wrong colour for what I want to do. Any help in locating a nice, sleek, slinky black moggie would be appreciated. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Re-texture the Poser cat as "no texture map, color = dark grey" (say red=green=blue=95), as here.

Over at PoserPros, Daio has a nice blcak cat texture, props, poses, etc. for $2.49. You do need the Milcat from DAZ to use the texture, but the poses are supposed to work with the regular cat with a spot of tweaking. Capsces made a free morph package for the Poser cat. It's called "Cat o 9 Lives": http://www.capsces.com/ It might include some morphs that make the cat sleeker. Otherwise, the other realistic cat I know of is DAZ's Millennium Cat. Which isn't free.

Clouldland Castle has an old (2001) tuxedo cat texture...I don't know how difficult it would be to make it all black.

I do, however, have some eyeball props in Free Stuff, which replace the cat's wretched, non-posable default eyes. You can see a few test renders here.

(AnthroEyes should be updated to version 3.0 by March.)

And the expression morphs I included in my Tobi 2.0 freebie should also work with the cat. The morph deltas can be transfered to the cat's CR2 with Morph Manager.

And my Bushy Tail 2.0 freebie can be used in place of the cat's tail. A black texture is included in the package.

Was it the dog or cat which Daz gave away in LE form as a freebie. And there is at least one good all-black cat texture out there ("Clancy"? Or some other cat?). (Mutters incantations) They're not available here, but Lyne is responsible for them, and I think you can find the thread where they were announced. There's certainly some good free textures out there for the MilCat. The full version is the best option, since the LE has a couple of little quirks, but the LE is in their 3D Starter, which is worth having anyway.

Lyne's free textures for the MilCat (Clancy, Travis, and Punkin) are available in the Members Only section at PlanIT 3D.

Membership being free, or course. Don't they match some of those MilCatWoman body textures? But you have to do a little tweaking on the head-fur part of the MilCat texture.
