Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
If the cool-looking faces on page 1 of this new tutorial are any indication, the Good Doctor may be the first person to do a really good sell on the frustrating Face Room. Maybe it's a good idea to start with someone else's pictures instead of your own. Seeing your own skin texturing Don's mesh can be alarmingly odd. :-)
Ah! The face room is a lot of fun! This should be interesting!

Clarification of Page 2: You can NOT use Vicki's (or any other Poser Figure's) head in the Face Room. There is no way (in Poser5) to import a head INTO the Face Room. (maybe in Poser6 ???) You can only use the Face Room (universal) head on another body (figure) if you create an adaptor (neck body object) to put the new figure together with the Face Room head. The head is still the Face Room head with a different body. cheers, dr geep ;=]

I like to use the Head Room faces I make as morphs... I make several for one character and then blend the morphs. But dealing with the Judy and Don default heads and there interaction with the morphs is making me crazy. How can I get the "unversal head" on Don and Judy so I can get what I see in Face Room? Also, has anyone made a head adopter they have made available for Universial head to Posette and Vicky1/2? I have just been using a Judy head character parented to the body in question with that head and eyes visibilty turned off, but this is frustrating... especially as the number of figures in a scene progresses.
Hi momodot,
re:"How can I get the "unversal head" on Don and Judy so I can get what I see in Face Room?"
(reference Page 6)
If you have Don or Judy loaded ...
Go into the Face Room ... Reset it ... click on "Apply to Figure" (Page 6) ... exit Face Room.
Now, you will have the universal head on Don.
(or Judy depending on which one was loaded when you entered the Face Room)
re:"Also, has anyone made a head adopter they have made available for Universial head to Posette and Vicky1/2?"
Using the universal head on a non-P5 figure is a little more complicated that just having the correct "adaptor."
The absolute position in the Poser studio must, also, be correct to be able to use the universal head.
I call it the universal head because it can be used to make almost any type of human head that you can envision, but not necessarily that it can be used universally on any figure. Sorry if that was not made clear. ;=[
