I got a new computer and put my poser5 on it. I have the box version. When I go to use it, it wants me to register it and I also want to get the updates because I need to do that again. It pops me to Curious labs and is asking me about challenge questions that I haven't a clue what they are talking about. What is all this? Anyone know what the heck I should do when switching poser to my brand new shiny computer?

If you are switching Poser 5 from one machine to another, you should have encountered those questions before. It is no longer necessary to jump through that hoop, though. You will need to reinstall Poser with the updaters as mentioned above. And read the readme!

Install Poser 5, then the updates. Do not use Poser. Do NOT reboot till the installs are done. Then reboot.

I'm downloading the updates now. Even found my old email with the old "challenge solution code" stuff. I had forgotten about doing that before so many moons ago. Thanks for the help.

Good! And don't foget the extra content on the CD... the figures are better than the default figures, and there are more toys to play with.

That's odd. I thought there were... but just popped the CD in and couldn't find them. (I might need another cup of coffee.) Superheroes and dragon armor and Roman temples and skateboards, but no people. The CD is very artsy, but difficult (slow) to navigate. This WIN98 box is under-powered to run P5, but with luck by tomorrow I might be able to play like everybody else. Basically what I could do was help Deecey with the morphed Don and Judy, so I had different figures from standard anyway. Maybe what I'm remembering is the figure updater? Carolly the Confused

OH Don & Judy you mean? I forgot about them as I only ever used them the first day I installed poser5 :D I'm such a cruel person for ignoring them for so long ;)
