Subject: Importing 3DS Character to Poser

Hi There! I finished modeling a character in my 3DSMax 6 program, and want to use it in Poser. I have done a good deal of reading on the topic, and have learned that this can be done. There is a problem that I'm looking for some help on. I export the figure as a .3DS file from 3DSMax. Then I import it into Poser, and ALL the objects that make up the figure are offset and sometimes even flipped! My character is made up of different objects rather than one overall skin. What can I do to ensure the placement and orientation of the .3DS file is maintained after importing it into Poser. Any suggestions would be of great help, and would be appreciated. Thanks for your time and help!

Yep the 3DS format will do that at times :)

Try exporting in OBJ format, its much more Poser friendly. I use the free Habwear plugin found at the above link. Here is a screen shot showing the settings I generally use.

Thanks for the prompt response, and for the guidance. I did what you said, and installed the plugin, only this plugin does not work with 3DSMax 6. Do you know of any other conversion programs that may work with 3DSMax 6? Thanks again for all the help!
