I've been off line for a few days (my son's bedroom has had an upgrade from Winnie the Pooh 1.0 to Spiderman 3.5 :) ) Did I miss anything important? Any results on the jan challenge? Any new challenge?

What the hell is Gmail? I'm stuck here with Zmail, it's terribly slow and boring...

draculaz ( ) posted Wed, 09 February 2005 at 1:29 PM

OMG... come forth and receive the light my child, a free email with 1 gig of space! drac (e spiritus sancti)

Sambucus ( ) posted Wed, 09 February 2005 at 1:44 PM

Woohoo, 1 gig of offers of Viagra and Japanese schoolgirls. Seriously, though, wasn`t there a privacy issue with this?

Your e-mails are read by a computer to genterate content relative ads and for sorting purposes. The ads are unobtrusive and text only, and on the side of your mailbox. No changes are made to your mail in or out. The software groups related emails and you can google search your e-mails. You don't actually think your e-mails are secure anyways do you? 754 emails in my archive 4Mb used (0% of inbox used) Plus you can download gmail notifier that sits in the system tray and tells me whenever I have a new email, even showing a snippet of it. xenic101 (waiting for 'gallery comment' e-bots to flood in) ;^)

gmail is the best thing ever! The spam trap gets over 90% easily and you can mark the ones that get through and it will trash them next time. It's just amazing. I've never been a fan of web based email. But I keep forgetting this is web based it's THAT cool! I want to try and beat Drac's offer. But can't think how to undercut something that's free. Maybe I'll give you two accounts.

But if it cuts out the spam, I`ll have nothing to read.

I'm tired of getting the school girl ads, hot and wet ads and the MOST annoying, are ads to increase size and Viagra, you'd think they'd at least check gender! How exactly does gmail work, and how do I get it?

It's web based email, kinda like yahoo or hotmail, but SO much better than those and you get 1GB storage so don't have to worry about the limits. You can only get it by invite. So someone who has an account and a free invite can invite you. Send me your email address and I'll invite you.

you know all this invite stuff, sounds like a marketing ploy as well as an experiment. Like its a way to track how fast it can get around the world and how fast it can spread to the masses. Call me silly.

Thanks Phil! Unfortunately the luxury German automobile went to Ben Afflek who accepted it in exchange for the promise that he would "Please, please, just go away."

lordstormdragon you think Zmail is slow, try GalaticMail takes nearly a week for mail to arrive, thats if it doesn't get sucked into one of the many blackholes on the internet.

waldomac ( ) posted Thu, 10 February 2005 at 1:28 AM

Oh, no, there I am. Caught. I can't believe they found me.

My Wings3D must be in stealth mode. There's no dot on the lakeside. So you're somewhere in the vicinity of RT-173 and I-39? (At least that's what it looks like.)

OH, whew, that's a lake. Cool. I thought it was a tornado and accompanying Bryce police storm system coming from West Texas into New Mexico to wipe out all heretical pockets.
