My Sand Runner model has begun private testing before official testing begins! Here's a pair of un-touched renders showcasing the cool flame object included in the package! The model will be in the Market Place soon enough so start saving now! Price point is estimated to be somewhere around $20 and it will be a Renderosity Exclusive!

Thanks. Here's the Full Body Morph included with the model.

the body spikes/horns can also be applied body part by body part for mix and match purposes.

How cute! Reminds me a bit of those adorable hellpuppies in Chronicles of Riddick. * scritches sand runner under chin * Are they housebroken?

cplymill ( ) posted Wed, 09 February 2005 at 2:34 PM

I know you use Rhino 3. I would like a small tutorial on making the morphs with it. If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Wed, 09 February 2005 at 4:32 PM

WOW!

kobaltkween ( ) posted Wed, 09 February 2005 at 4:53 PM

are you going to do some expression morphs? not like, say, smiling, but something to go with breathing fire.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Wed, 09 February 2005 at 7:14 PM

alternate textures maybe?

ElorOnceDark ( ) posted Thu, 10 February 2005 at 1:15 AM

Wow! Very cool! Excellent job at giving him a sinuous look!

mrsparky ( ) posted Thu, 10 February 2005 at 8:25 AM

The flame prop looks brillant now. Did you transmap ?

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

Teyon ( ) posted Thu, 10 February 2005 at 9:26 AM

Thanks gang. The bio I've included with the model does say they can be domesticated but I'm not gonna try doin' it! I have been trying to get a good angry morph out of the face but it's not completely symmetrical, so it's taking some time. There will be alternate textures. A variaton of this texture plus a texture by MoonRose, who was kind enough to do the UVMapping for me so I could paint a decent texture. Yes, the flame prop is transmapped, however, while it's great at angles and from the side, viewed from the absolute front is a bit...odd. Keep your eyes open gang, the Legends:QFTS universe is about to begin...it's gonna be a fun time.

Oh and I don't use Rhino much anymore and I own version 2, not 3. :( All of my models are made in WINGS now. Though, to be honest, this one started in Rhino (the head). Rhino's a great program but not the best for organic modeling (yet). I will try to see what I can do about helping you with morphs, cplymill.

ElorOnceDark ( ) posted Thu, 10 February 2005 at 2:09 PM

Yeah, I don't use Rhino much anymore either. I switched to Silo. It's nice not having to convert nurbs to polys and loose your details.

The beast is looking fantastic Teyon! Superb job!

Hey all. I just want to say thanks for the support on a model which I have been working on these last two months. It does my heart good to know I wasn't wasting my time. I'll be back with an update soon.

Just to show you how this guy looks on Poser 5, here's a link to a picture I did while testing.. He poses very well and looks great!

The dragon will be sent for Official Testing today. Here's an alternate texture map for it. With this map, the dragon seems like it is suited to caves and murky damp locations. Rendered using Daz's ICE light dome. Morphs have been added for angry eyes and the model includes some poses to help you get started. I hope official testing goes smoothly so I can move on to the next creature in the series...
