Subject: Where can I get Poser 4.0.3 update as only files without auto-installer?

There is only one source for the 4.03 update and that's the Curious Labs site. Can Winzip open the .exe? -JH.

Winzip will probably not open it. Try making a temp Poser/runtime folder and pointing and extracting the file to it instead.

Doesn't the installer refuse to proceed unless it finds a Poser 4.00 file already present?

I think that is correct. Guess I should have been more clear. What I meant when I said make a temp Poser/runtime folder, is to copy or install the run files from the current Poser folder/or off the CD to this one. Then apply the patch to this temp folder to get at the files.
