my personal website!
Yeah! it's finally finished!

It devoured a lot of my spare time in the last month mostly because I don't know (almost) anything about web-designing.
:)

But I'm quite satisfied with the result so... if you have 2 minutes go check www.nashtonline.com.
I'd like to have your impressions about it.

Thanks

Nasht

Took a quick peek.... and I think it's beautifully designed. I've always been a fan of your work, and I think you've showcased your images in an impressive way! When I have time to sit and relax I will go through each gallery and really enjoy each image. Thank you for sharing this with us.... it's being bookmarked!

Very well done. I really like the design. Very smooth, very intuitive. Great color palette (but I like darker palettes). At some point, the music will probably start to annoy me but since I can turn that off, no problem. :)

A couple of nits to pick. One is the text size. Don't know about on other people's screens, but I run 1280x1024 and find the text to be a bit hard on the eyes.

The other, is there a way to have the entry into your gallery (from your main page) open in the same window. When I hit the HERE in "Click HERE to continue..." it opens a new browser window. Not a big deal, but I'd rather not have to close 2 windows when leaving your site (does it because you used a target of "_blank" - no target opens it in the same window).

1600x1200. Text size isn't so much an issue for me, but the font is the problem I think, it's very thin. Other than that, it looks fantastic :)

3D - Yea, that's what I meant ... Not that it's small, but because the lines are so thin on the font it makes it a little difficult to read. I should have been more specific.

it's a totally awesome site, and your gallery is incredible!!!!!!!!!!! you HAVE to tell me how you manage to do such amazing still lifes!!! Each of them has such energy to it. can't describe it any better way really. what's your secret??? oh, i enjoyed everything about your site except the font. it was difficult for me to read. but other than that, it's perfect!

First of all, thanks everybody for taking the time to look at my work. And for your nice words too!
:)

About the fonts... I really had an hard time with them. You see, Flash has one big problem with fonts: it just applies "antialiasing" to everything, fonts included, making them very hard to read unless you're using very large characters. But I didn't want text to be "important" in my site (there's very little of it) because of the subject.
So I had to learn how to use pixel fonts in order to prevent flash from blurring them. And that was another issue, as nobody seems to know how do they work perfectly, I've lost a lot of time doing reserch and I've read many articles and tutorials but the informations I got did not work for me.
Anyway, I learned how to use them at last... so if anybody will ever have a problem with them... ask me! ;)

So, back to the answer, I was forced to use pixel fonts and because they are working only in fixed sizes (like 8px) I had to "chose"... that size.
The result is a very sharp small character that sometimes can be hard to read, but I can assure you that normal text would have been much worse.

Hope that explains

thanks again!

*For DHolman: thanks for your advice. It's been corrected! ;)
