Subject: Vue or Bryce for trees?

I was wondering if Bryce 5 or Vue 5 Esprit, is the best app for creating realistic trees? I am looking for comments from people who have used both? Which is the easiest to lurn?

There is nothing to learn in Vue. Pick a bush, plant it. Pick it again plant it again. Different tree. There all different. Can't get easier than that.

If you want to create new trees or modify existing ones you need the Pro version(s). 4 Pro or 5 Studio or the upcoming 5 Infinite. These have a plant editor where you can modify all parameters yourself. How about downloading a demo of for example 4 Pro and try it out? Then you know what you will get from Vue.

You can create different trees in Vue5.....just scan in a leaf and then make an alpha, then apply the new leaf to a tree & there ya go....new tree. There are a ton of free mat leafs out there for Vue trees. That said...Bryce trees have a LOT to be desired...they aall droop & the textures aren't good at all. Of course IMHO ;)

Tree quality was one of the reasons I moved from Bryce to Vue. 'Nuff said.

Vue is by far better for trees than Bryce.. but just remember.. you really need a pretty powerful computer to deal with it.. though not as much as you'd think :)

Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.

What I don't understand is why there aren't loads of new Vue trees and plants released by those that have the plant editor for the benefit of others. The little selection you get as standard (THREE cherries and THREE maples, yeah, right) is soon exhausted.
