If anyone is interested, got say the grand winner image is very simple and uncluttered....I like the 1st runner up too(pg2)

I like the winner. Not incredibly original (but then, what is?), but very well executed.

My favourites were KOryH and Lemog. Both are just honourable mentions. Not many women over there, but they are not non-existent.

some very enjoyable images, what i found interesting was that the quality of 2D work in some instances surpassed the 3D. and if you bring that back here, i think many of us need to improve our basic skills. composition, perspective, colours, just because you can get an image 'out-of-the-box' with Bryce and/or Poser, there still needs to be some artistic input. As the saying goes 'back to the drawing board'. Lets learn some basic drawing, i'm going to put my 3D paintbox away for a while and concentrate on drawing again for a while.

Experience is no substitute for blind faith.

I've got some drawings that I want to bring into 3D just havent decided how I'm going to do it. Is there a way I could draw my art, scan it into my PC and turn it into a 3D Mesh up object with a program?

It is interesting rj, I was thinking about Rudy's work (Rochr) which often has a lot of post, could be a 'best of both worlds' style.

Analog, there's a program that's supposed to use painting to create a 3D model. Zhann should know more. But a model directly from a concept sketch... no, I don't know any. OTOH, you can try ZBrush which is the way of modelling closest to painting/drawing that I've seen. www.pixologic.com

There's an app that will create a model fro several photos of an object, Photomodeler, or something similiar, can't remember exactly...

I've always done a lot of post anyway, and after spending time at CGTalk checking out the 2D works....I'm really enticed to draw figures rather than import...or If I do import, they'll get a major overhaul. This is more 2D stuff, trying to learn skin tone, anatomy,etc. This was a sketch I did in 1987.
