I've created a wall with a window in the middle of it and the window glass shows artifacts as seen in the picture. I've included a wireframe rendering of the objects to provide clues. Here's they were made: 1) In Windows 98 3DS Max R3, I created 3D boxes of different sizes. The boxes had no segments in them. 2)I used the Boolean function to cut a hole in the biggest box (the wall) and the medium-sized box (the window frame). 3) I exported the whole thing as an OBJ and processed the OBJ through Scaler to resize the object and UVMapper to split vertices and provide a texture map. The Box texture map looks like the wireframe rendering. 4) I imported the OBJ into Poser. Why didn't I just use the Window button to make my window? Because that option produces even more artifacts on the glass. How do I prevent the artifact shadows from showing up on the glass? (I suspect that the deformation caused by the Boolean has something to do with it.) Is there anyway of using the Boolean function in 3DS Max without deforming the original geometries? I though of increasing the segments of the original boxes but this increases the size of the OBJ. Thanks in advance. azl
