Subject: Please Help: Stockings/Pantyhose for Posette

cenozoite ( ) posted Fri, 18 February 2005 at 3:09 AM · edited Wed, 13 November 2024 at 11:24 PM

I have been searching through the freestuff and various websites, as well as all the messages in this forum for the last several hours without any success, and I'm hoping someone can help me. What I am looking for is some free, basic, lace/fishnet/whatever type stockings/pantyhose for Posette, that are instantly ready to use in Poser 4. Meaning, they should be either an actual stand-alone clothing item or a transmap for a clothing item that Posette can wear. I have seen many many references throughout the forum to such things, but they all have one or more of the following problems: 1. The link is outdated and no longer exists 2. The item is for Vicky or some other commercial figure that I don't have. 3. The item is a pre-existing skin texture, which is no good to me because I already have the specific texture I want to use. 4. The item has to be applied using some sort of outside-poser paint program technique, rather than simply and directly from within poser itself. Basically the only thing that will work for me at present is either a transmap for the unitard or other standard item, or a conforming clothing figure that posette can wear. So, does anyone know if any such thing that is currently available somewhere? All the ones I've seen mentioned seem to have disappeared :( Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Give me a little while and I'll make something up for you. I'm gonna use a redistributable texture to avoid copyright issues.

I have stockings for Posette and suspender for them, but unfortunately there's no readme in the archives. Those go to a Geometries folder named "piero". Maybe someone recalls the creator ? Site was still active about two months ago, when I d/l-ed those items, unfortunately don't have the address anywhere.

Thanks very much to both of you for your replies! I appreciate the help and will eagerly look forward to the next update of this thread. It's amazing how such a supposedly simple item can be so difficult to sucessfully locate, but if I ultimately end up with something I can use that will be fabulous :) I'll await further info...

Here is an Ideal. Use the grouping tool and create your own. Geep has a great grouping tool tutorial.

Ghastley has some stockings for Posette but they're white not lace or fishnet so they'd need a transmap. You may be able to find a lace/net map in freestuff or a B&W lace/net pattern on the web. Sico3D had some nice stockings--the regular brown/taupe variety. The readme says they can be redistributed. Maybe someone has them and can send you a copy. The file is 781,195 bytes which would take forever on my dial-up even if my email will handle it.

2 options - SiCo3D's conforming stockings for Posette are no longer available, but the readme says they can be redistributed non-commercially. IM me an e-mail address and I'll send them to you (the Zip is 762KB).

Or, you can add material zones to Posette so that her legs can be coloured independently of the rest of her skin - this is easy if she's going to be clothed, just assign hip, thighs, shins, feet and toes to a new material in UVMapper. The link tells you how. As well as just applying colour, you can then use a separate texture map which would keep your main skin texture intact. Cross-posted with lmckenzie - great minds thing alike... :)

I have a copy of SiCo3D's pantyhose. The file size I get is 3.6Mb, though. I should be able to e-mail it.

Warning! Scary adult content on that page!! 8) BAT's knee sox are what I would call stockings - they go up to mid-thigh.

My own unreliable dialup connection went down for a couple of days, but I'm back now. Thanks for bearing with me. Thanks as well for all the further replies and suggestions, I will check out the posted links and IM my email address to those who kindly offered to send me stuff. I noticed BAT mentioned a few times. It sounds to me like that was a really great place to get free Posette clothing items before it disappeared. What a pity.

Since you got the link, I removed it lest anyone be offended. I was going to mention the "fetish" nature of the site but forgot when I posted. Couple 'a typical Japanese vibes that indeed might be intimidating for some I suppose. Thanks for the reminder Bob. Bat is still around making great stuff for the marketplace. He also still makes freebies though he only offers them one at a time on a limited basis. I don't have the link handy but it should be easy enough to find.
