We're bringing back one of your favorite short story magazines, but now it's free - it's fabulous - and it's coming soon! SpinningS Virtual Magazine. Volume 2 Issue 1 - is now an online Electronic Magazine.

Guidelines for SpinningS...intense tales of life ezine.

Stories, art and a few pieces of poetry will be published in each SpinningS issue.

We are looking for 'raw emotional' material. Tempt us with Thrillers - Romance - Detective - Horror - Mystery - Fantasy - Sci Fi - stories with a beginning, a middle and an explosive or gripping conclusion. SpinningS short stories must contain all of the elements of a full length novel, providing our readers with powerful drama in less than 4000 words.

Query with a brief synopsis of your story or concept, including short author bio, and current contact information. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to read unsolicited manuscripts, so please give us a good idea in one paragraph of what your story is about. If we feel it's right for SpinningS we will contact you to request the full manuscript for further consideration.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, however, we only consider unpublished material for First Electronic Rights. All of our Magazines remain online in our Archives, therefore stories cannot be removed from our virtual magazines once they are published. We try to respond to queries within one month. Feel free to email us with any question you may have.

We cannot pay for stories, but will provide you with a classy virtual publication and free promotion of your craft, your web site and/or one book that you have published. The same promotion applies to Artists and Poets. We'll promote your web site and place your artwork into the hands of thousands of readers on the Internet.
Some of our authors and artists in past Skyline Magazines have gone on to bigger and better things as a result of the exposure they received in our magazines. Artists have sold paintings, writers have been published in print.

  • Authors: Send SYNOPSIS to: SkylineStories@hotmail.com with SPINNINGS STORY QUERY in the email subject line. We are seeking strong characterizations including dialogue, vibrant imagery, striking, memorable conclusions/ twist endings. 4000 word limit. Sensual, bold, horrific, shocking is fine. Get your point across using involving true to life or fantasy themes and 'real life' dialogue. No abuse or violence against women or children, racism, religion, porn or excessive use of foul language.
  • Artists: No query is necessary. After reading our guidelines, if you feel your art would fit into SpinningS, send artwork inside email or as attachments to SkylineStories@hotmail.com with SPINNINGS ART SUBMISSION in the email subject line. Include your bio and information about the art you are submitting, including titles and medium, and your web site url.
  • Poetry - no query: Same genres and themes as requested for stories. As for word count, poems should fit on one letter size page using verdana 9 pt fonts. Leave room for a large heading and title, your brief bio and web site url at the bottom of the page. As poetry format varies, we cannot give an exact word count. Very few poems will be used per issue. Submit 4 poems inside one email to SkylineStories@hotmail.com with SPINNINGS POETRY SUBMISSION in the email subject line.

Any questions email SkylineStories@hotmail.com with SPINNINGS INFO REQUEST in the subject line.Message edited on: 02/18/2005 10:49

Hey, we're all here to help. Can't get you in their pages, but I'm sure the moderators and coordinators here would help you out. GonWaki and DeeMarie were in charge of The Renderosity Interactive Magazine, and dido6 was a writer and ace interviewer. Not to mention the forum members here who are quite proficient at writing. You have some good resources here....don't be afraid to ask. :)
