Hi, I need to pose a face. A real face. Oh well, the idea I have and it's not original but I'd like to learn how to do it is to pose my g/fs face in poser. I have some (many) photos of her and that's all. Any idea on how to do that. I have Poser, Bryce, PhotoShop and 3D Studio Viz (all are the latest versions). Best regards, Paulo J. Matos aka PDestroy

In Photoshop, open P4 Nude Woman Texture. take your GF's pic, and fit it to size same as the Tiff. Then layer the GF on top of the tiff, carefully lining up the eyes and lips. it will be easier if GF is a little opague so you can see tiff face. The tiff face will be wide, its not wrapped around the head. So you need to spread your GF's face out either with smudge tool or rubberstamp. save as something other than P4 Nude Woman, and once in Bryce, switch the texture with the GF pic. Did that make sense? Ive never tried it with a photograph, but Ive done it with body tatoos and stuff. Its a pretty common practice, but it might take a few errors before you get it right. Now as far as posing the model's face to match the photo, you'll have to ask someone else. Probably a morph and I have never done any morphing.I would use a photo that is pretty straight, no head tilts, no goofy grins, just the face. The tiff will apply it to the pose naturally. Hope this helps.

If you're comfortable using morphs, or even just the dials that come with Posette, check out my tutorial on Making the Better Portrait off my site.

I've been working on a project like this. The morphs at www.morphs.bbay.com helped me out a lot. You may run into some areas where you need to export the head to Viz to tune it up as you go along. I've done that, and I'm building new morphs as I go to solve my particular problems.

I'd be interested to hear what kinds of things you've learned along the way, while life modeling from Poser4 figures/Zygote figures.
