Well here's the result of about 5 hours work. This dude was constructed completely from scratch (model and paint job). The main body was originally a spline model and was booleaned several times to get the 9 windows and the hole for the radiator. The biggest pain the behind was all the rigging I guessed up for the undercarriage and drive train. I have a cool eshaust but you can't see it very well nor can you see the gun turret behind the rockets too clearly from here. I'm not done but it's done enough to share. -Kix

Very cool for five hours. This jeep reminds me of the cars me and childhood buddy used to draw. Kinda like Mad Max. Question, how did you do the tire tred?

How did you do those cool tire treads? Very nice.

Yeah. You have to start a tire thread!

The treads are easy. First I made main part of the tire in the spline modeler by drawing a cross section and extruding through a torus. Then I made one single tread in the spline modeler, duplicated it and turned to make a "matched" pair across from each other. Grouped that, duplicated the group of two treads and rotated the groups. Piece of cake. -Kix

Let's not forget, (for those playing along at home) that the hot-point of the grouped treads should be placed at the center of the tire, rotated a short bit, then duped. It will wrap right around the tire that way, just like magic! ;) Check out Kix's gear tutorial for the step by step version. Same thing as adding the cog's to the gears. (Kix- I hope you don't mind my stepping on your toes a little... thought it could use a little clarification.)
