So, here we go: Eovia Corporation is the new home for Carrara. I can already hear you saying: "I am very glad to know that but this Eovia name doesn't ring a bell"! This is not surprising; Eovia Corp is a brand new company. It has been founded in November 2000 by former Carrara developers and managers. This company has acquired Carrara from MetaCreations (now Viewpoint) in December 2000. So, who are the people behind Eovia? A small group of true 3D aficionados and, we believe, seasoned managers. All the founders are developers or heavy users of 3D software. We all share years of work on Ray Dream and Carrara. We think that our experience will ensure that we understand the needs and expectations of our customers. But this is not the only news of the day! Eovia and TGS are contemplating to merge. And this is where things get really exciting! TGS is the company that develops and markets the famous Amapi. The unparalleled modeler that includes: NURBS, Meta-NURBS, organic modeling, Coons and Gordon surfaces, filleting and many other ultra high end modeling features. All the features that the Dreamers have always dreamed to get without daring to ask! TGS also brings a well-established company with strong presence in the US and Europe. The Eovia web site is going to grow rapidly in order to become the number one place for the Dreamers to exchange ideas, images, objects, etc. Surprisingly ;-) , many of you have also questions about when a new Carrara will be released ! It is a bit early to give firm dates but if you read the Message from the CEO on our web site, you will get a few hints. More about that next week on the list. Good news ! We now know that Carrara is in good hands . And it's so rare to see a product that is owned by its creators ! For once, we will not deal with a company that care much about its shareholders than 3D ! Good luck to Eovia ! litst

This is pretty good news. I know a lot of people who've been asking these questions elsewhere... do you mind if I cut the text of that announcement/letter and post it in a couple of other spots to get the word out?
