I already have a copy of Shade 7 Std. Will they offer a upgrade to Poser6 , that does not include the Shade 7 LE? Besides the fact that that's the least used program on my hard drive, and who wants two copies of it, I don't want to have to download it to get the Poser upgrade.

That is a good point, and people with slow modems wont thank curious labs for having to download shade either. Is there a deal for poser without shade that is cheaper than poser with shade?

Someone posted somewhere else (sorry, can't remember where,) that Shade 7 LE was just a BONUS (ie: gift) as an enticement to pre-order Poser 6 and that P6 may be available without Shade at its full/regular release. If you already have it, why would you have to download it again just to get Poser 6? Surely the programs will be seperate downloads...

I guess that's another reason to wait for the regular release.

From what I understand, the P6 upgrade will be the same price as the prerelease upgrade. Only without the bonuses. Shade LE is a separate download available immediately with the electronic version of the prerelease. Like Smoovie, I also have Shade Std, but figure the LE version might make a nice gift for someone

Word from CuriousLabs is that you will only get Shade if you order the special edition (preorder). If you wait until it is released, all that you will get is Poser 6. The pre-release also contains a special "Snow Witch" character, also not included with the standard release.

By the way, it's not Snow Witch, but Winter Queen. What's so special about it, no one knows at the moment, guess that still is one of those dumb Poser secrets.....

I'm not swayed by Winter Queen, without further explanation of her benefits. I live in the Frozen North and hate winter.

Shade 7 LE can be a re-gift for someone else. Why pay more for just Poser 6 alone later?

They should tell people all the new features etc of the new poser if they expect them to preorder it. The winter queen might be no use for people who might not have the figure or don`t like using v3 (There is some).

If the Shade GIFT is of no use to you, CL has stated that it could make a nice gift for someone else. It is a GIFT, after all. Winter Queen is almost certainly not a V3 variant. Why would CL make anything for V3? She is also a GIFT to people who preorder. Given the number of ice witches, snow queens, frost maidens, etc. in the fairytales I'm sure that many people will not only welcome her but make good use of her. We don't know yet whether she is a new figure or a character package for new a figure or what, but she doesn't look like Judy or Posette and she doesn't look like any of the Vickys. She looks pretty. You don't have to accept gifts... but grumbling about them shows a lack of graciousness. Carolly

Ah geesh, here we go again with the Curse of the Gift. Curious Labs is trying to entice us into buying Poser 6 early, by offering some gifts. You know, we have the right to graciously say if we don't find those gifts interesting. Oh wait, in fact, we're buying Poser 6 in order to get that Gift. Oh, and it only makes sense to know more about Poser 6 before we spend our money. You know, customers have every darned right to express their feelings, and sometimes to even vote with their wallet. Either by purchasing, or not purchasing. And, unlike some people, Curious Labs might actually be interested in their customer's opinions.
