Hi there... I am new here. I am trying to use a file that I bought, The read Me is a little confusing, and I can't seem to get the cloths or hair to work. Could really use some help here "The P4 version of the MAT folder has .BUM files, these must be created by first applying each JPG bump file to an item (any old item, all you have to do is make the file). You should be able to identify these from their names. Textures can be found in the TexturesGlamorous Vickie folder." I don't understand what is meant by applying each jpg bump file to "any old file" lol... I'm lost Thanks in advance AScorp

You apply the jpg to any object or figure as a bump map and that will make the bum file in poser 4. Of course you can just apply the jpg to the thing that it was made for to make the bum file. I hope this helps...

Umm I'm afraid I'm still lost... I do that in PSP? or in Poser?

In poser itself.

Poser 4 uses .BUM format files for bump maps, while Poser PP uses jpg. To convert a jpg bum file into .bum format you need to go to the material settings in Poser. Under bump map, click to search for the jpg bum files and load these. You will get a question of you want to convert them to BUM, click yes on this. When you've done that will all the bum files, you can use the P4 MATs and you will have everything loaded correctly.

About that "any old item" I think it means that you can load these bump maps for any object/figure in Poser, it doesn't matter what you apply it to since you're only doing this step to get the jpeg converted to bum.

Here's what I do: 1.) Load a prop (Be sure it's selected) 2.) Go to Render, Materials 3.) Go to Bump Map, and select the bump map file 4.) Poser will offer to convert the jpg to BUM. Say yes. 5.) You're done. You can really load any item when you do this. You're just getting Poser 4 to do the work for you.
