Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 13 7:03 am)
When you export from Poser, make sure you select 'Export existing groups' (or whatever the wording is) to maintain the grouping.
AutoGroup Editor is the best thing for grouping btw :) You can actually paint in your groups right onto the mesh itself (or use selection like Poser if you really want to) and it saves without any hassles.

Like so many others, I too pre-ordered P6 and I can't wait to get my hands on it and on ShadeLE. I have absolutely no experience with any 3D modeling app. How easy and/or clear is Shade to work in? In other words what, in your opinion, is the learning curve? Edited to add - btw, nice job on that tank-top and I hope you're feeling better

Ok, I made a sleveless shirt for Laura in Shade, and brought the shirt into Poser. So far, so good. From some of the tutorials out there, is where I get lost. I used the grouping tool to make the hip, abdomen, chest, lCollar, rCollar groups. So now I have groups, but, what do I do next? I assigned the groups a material, Shirt, and exported the obj. I then opened the shirt in UVMapper, and I have the material Shirt, but no groups. When I exported the obj, I checked the boxes to maintain groups, etc. I then imported the shirt back into Poser. Still, no groups except polygonmesh. What do I need to do to maintain groups, and materials, so that I can make this shirt conforming? I have CR2Editor, Quick Conform, and PWizard on my machine, so making a CR2 shouldn't be too much of a problem, but I need to get the geometry ready for CR2 creation. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -The Starkdog
