I don't know whether anybody mentioned this yet, but there is a competitive sidegrade on offer in Maxon webshop. You have to have a qualifying package and you can get Cinema 4D cheaper. Bryce is among the packages. Unfortunately, they don't offer Cinema core in the States, so all you can buy are the bigger bundles. For the rest of us, we can save 130 euros or 100 pounds in UK & Ireland. Not a terrific offer, but still looks okay.

I see what you mean about the competative upgrades though. I went from the CE+ (registered from 3DWorld) to 8.5 w/AR and Now run 9.1 w/ AR2. Loving it personnaly.

I still use bryce occasionally though, its terrain tools/export and skylab are awefully handy.
