I didn't get the download version. I ordered the ship it on disc version for that very reason. I've got DSL at home and it works great for some stuff but for a program upgrade? Just don't think so. Even for some of the larger downloads from places like DAZ, I get my husband to use the T1 line at his job. I still just prefer to have my programs and program upgrades on disc (with big instruction manuals). Good luck with your download though! Kristta
One of the reasons CL recommend a DL manager is because their server is notoriously slow. I can't remember how long it took for me to DL P5 but I recall it was quite some time and the server speed was up and down like a bride's nightie.

Well, I could suggest trying it at night when their server might not be hit so hard. Even if I purchase items during the daytime, I'll download at night if possible... and I'm on DSL. However, big downloads such as programs are notorious for dropping off, or having the ISP timeout, or not having enough space in the swap file or temp file or wherever Windows is deciding to stow it this time (you need twice the space of the program free). After 12 hours yesterday I contacted sales. The man I spoke to is trying now to fix the order so that it will be mailed. I told him to go look here about what others think about there download. He did have other calls saying they could not download either. I am not the only one. I live so far out in the country I really try to go with the download thing. It is seven miles to the nearest town. Fed EX has a problem of just getting it to town and leaving it with anyone. I get calls from people that we have no association with, other than the FedX drops. I have even sent a letter to the head office and it seems to make no difference. UPS comes out if the roads are not so bad. The huge truck might get stuck in the mud when weather is like this. I am 7 miles out and my nearest neighbor is over a mile away. You are right though, it is better than not getting it at all. I have learned my lesson with Curious Labs. Keep your fingers crossed for me getting it at all.

I ordered this morning and have tried to download it numerous times. It is so slow off of there server!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wireless and download at a pretty fair clip. I checked my speed and my bandwidth is both up and down (466kbs). It is so slow that I trickle down to about 31 of the over 400 that needs to be downloaded! Thats abour 8%! Then there server cuts me off. I had to contact them about it and was told the following for those of you who are having the same problem! 1. Go to Curious home page. 2. Pick Purchase at the top of the page 3. On the left pick customer service a new page opens. 4. Enter your order number and password where indicated. This will take you to the download page so that you can try again.
