Is it the one about WIndows messaging?Cause once you get it on your system it basically prevents accessing the net and using almost any program to remove it...can't even access optical drives so the anti spyware solution will be useless for most users.

Read alot about this stuff on Cnet's Forums. Vicious stuff for sure! If you bought it, you payed for someone to litrally destroy your computer. ======================= Registrant: Domains by Proxy, Inc. 15111 N Hayden Rd., Suite 160 PMB353 Scottsdale, Arizona 85260 United States Registered through: GoDaddy.com Domain Name: ERRORGUARD.COM Created on: 13-Sep-04 Expires on: 13-Sep-06 Last Updated on: 28-Sep-04 Administrative Contact: Private, Registration ERRORGUARD.COM@domainsbyproxy.com Domains by Proxy, Inc. 15111 N Hayden Rd., Suite 160 PMB353 Scottsdale, Arizona 85260 United States (480) 624-2599 Fax -- Technical Contact: Private, Registration ERRORGUARD.COM@domainsbyproxy.com Domains by Proxy, Inc. 15111 N Hayden Rd., Suite 160 PMB353 Scottsdale, Arizona 85260 United States (480) 624-2599 Fax -- Domain servers in listed order: NS1.ERRORGUARD.COM NS2.ERRORGUARD.COM
Actually most of the people I know who have it didn't buy it nor knowingly download it.Also, has Cnet removed it from their downloads yet or is that just general info from their site about the makers of the product? Thanks for providing this and guys let me tell ya...this one can destroy your computer so be real careful ok.I don't know how but on at least two computers I know of now that have this,EG has apparently found a way to block you in bios which from my understanding should not happen. So please be careful as there may be ways to get this on your puter without actually downloading it...I don't think my friends were lying about not downloading it since they didn't even know it was the problem.

"to block you in bios". it's possible. some nastys like CIH will attempt to directly attack a bios. easy to get around - find manual swap the relevant jumper and turn pc back on, cmos/bios will reset to factory default. even on "jumperless" boards theres a way. but be warned don't ever be tempted to play and find out how. get it wrong and you can kill the machine.
Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

There's a product out there called Error Guard which is supposed to be an anti virus/anti spyware program...do not download this item.If you try to remove it from your system it could completely take over your OS,deny you access to your optical drives and even prevent you from shutting off power to your system save for unplugging it from the wall outlet.
I don't know if its just bad software or if its this way by design but if you have it on your system do not try to remove it without contacting someone for sound tech advice.Don't be surprised if the techs you talk to don't know about this problem as it appears to be something new but if you put "Error guard problems" in google you'll find a lot of info there confirming a problem.Even if you just enter Error Guard you'll find a lot of worrys regarding the lack of response from its makers.
This is only a warning to you guys to be careful ok...but for whatever reasons this thing has caused some major problems and I want you to investigate on your own rather than just take my word. But if you don't have it don't get it for right now...if you do don't delete it just yet until the problem has answers on how to do that safely.
My neighbor got hit by this and he knows how to tear computer hardware and software apart by the numbers...he didn't expect this because he downloaded from CNET which has been very reliable for him and since this happened he found its a huge problem and advised me to investigate it on my own to educate myself rather than just listen to him~you guys do the same.
