What happens to the download links in the free stuff area that no longer work? I was trying to d/l TwistedBolt's "BryceMan", but it just leads me to a dead Yahoo page. I'm having the same problem with Smartpipe.

Smartpipe is from madmax_br5. None of his free or marketplace items have active links. He hasn't been to Rendo since October 3, 2004, so I suspect he may have shut down his website or file storage site and no longer can or might not come here for a while. TwistedBolt was here a couple days ago, so IM him, maybe he can tell you why "BryceMan" is unavailable. John

unfortunately, this is a constant occurrence. Some folks have regular pages that stick around for years, some just 'rent' some space on Angelfire, Yahoo, etc., to put something up, and then whoomp, there it go..;) There is someone at 'rosity going through the Freestuff, but since there's 10,000 items (or were), it just takes a long time to prune the dead links out.

figure out the url, go to www.archive.org, punch it in, and see if it still works. it might, it might not

So if I want to upload a freebie, does that mean I have to host it somewhere?

I can't change Madmax's links in freestuff but I can tell you where things like bantam grass and smartpipe are now. Is it possible the administrators can make the corrections so the files are available again?

I have the smartpipe zip, if I can get ahold of Madmax_br5 I'll see if I can host it on my site.....

I wish I knew what happened to Pidjy! I understand he was gravely ill. I still have his lens-flare/aurora pack, but I can't distribute it without getting his permission.
