This is a hertiage house we renovated a few years ago.I went by it the other day and it is still in outstanding shape. I took this for my uncle as it was his contract.Hertiage buildings here must not be changed in appearance on the outside.Inside it was made into an office for lumber brokers, but they kept the style in all but two rooms where they needed modern offices made. We had specialty milled siding and shingles done. The hardest part for me was doing the round crown mouldings and baseboard. This was built in around 1910 originally.Give or take a year. Now would it look good in print as B&W..Sepia...or colour. Also opinions as to which one to do. soloshado...Hope you like this one...

hard to choose between the color & sepia.

color: keeps my interest longer. colors are all harmonious and it's well balanced. i love seeing the natural beauty.

speia: gives it a feel of another era. i love the the warm colors, but it doesn't hold my attention the way the color version does.

b/w: to me the color/sepia one is better composed. it feels a bit off balanced. the light pole is leaning back further in this one, and it's distracting to me. the b/w shows a better view of the house...less secluded by the trees. the b/w has a more lived in feel...i notice the candle in the window & see the car in the driveway.

not sure i can choose. it's a toss up between color & sepia.

sepia is a bit more intriguing. makes me wonder about the inhabitants a bit more. ok...sepia...i like intrigue!

edit: it's a beautiful home that you've restored!!! Raz will love it!

ummm... the b&w shows more of the house... you have that one in color? :] as the other 2 tend to hide more behind the greenery... played around with it, hope you don't mind, just to see... cropping it moved the lightpole over, giving a stairstep effect in the angles... just wish that tree wasn't there blocking the porch... think you could go back & cut it down? :] ...nice restoration!

Good job cynlee ...I was working on cloning the car out of it,but moving it as you did looks better. Think he would like this one much more. I do have them all in colour. (you just violated a copyright...I will have to put this on your members record.) He Sheila I know what you mean about losing interest faster with sepia. It does have it's place though.Might look good printed.

lol!... i cloned the car out, but didn't like the house back there, so i started working on that but i didn't like the white on that side of the treetop anyway... so... chop, chop ...it is a difficult view

What you think of this house... I fell in love with it during the 6 months working on it.

What a wonderful old house! And amazing how the different toning almost makes the leaves dissapear...

What a grand Eddifce....10 Years Younger than My Own humble Dwelling...I like it in the good old B&W.

How about plants in color and house in sepia! ;) Seriously, I think sepia presents it best in this photo. If you had a before and after shot, I'd suggest doing the original in sepia and the fixed up version in full color. Just a thought. Great job by the way! :)

db, I definately think that the colour one is the best picture, but the b/w has the best POV. Short, sweet & serious. Who would have thought it?!? (",)

A wonderful house.....! Personally prefer the BW for it's composition.... I feel like the evergreen's are hiding too much in the other..... So the second image in color is what I would go for were it mine.

I am, therefore I create.......
