Okay, all you RAW advocates have conviced me to give it a go. I just download the PhotoshopCS RAW (DNG Converter) plug-in. Do you think that is all I need or can someone recommend a better conversion program? I never even touched what came with my Olympus, I heard some bad things. ;] Thanks for you input! --Kort

Photoshop CS is excellent as a RAW conversion program...just make sure your digicam is supported. There are several updates to the raw plugin...I don't think there are many digi cams yet that support DNG. Does yours have DNG file format? Usually the software that comes with the cameras leaves something left to be desired. So if you have PSCS that is your better choice. Hope this helps. :))

I do have PSCS and my camera Oly C5050 is now supported by the latest update. Time to test her out! ;) Thanks.

Another conversion :) I believe many leave RAW alone 'cos either: 1) their camera does not support it. 2) many are 'scared' by it. just my two pints worth :)

Ah, right, now I understand. I was wondering what all those random letters were in the title, then I see it was written by a Mac user. Poor thing. (",)

Kort, yes unfortunately most of the conversion software that comes with digital camera's totally rots..... The Picture Project software that comes with Nikon digi's is horrible! I installed it played with it for 5 minutes and promptly uninstalled it ..... they charge 99$ for Nikon Capture, when I feel that should be the program given to people. And so many are left to search for third party Raw programs.... luckily there are a few that are quite nice. Adobe's PSCS raw plugin will do in a pinch..... and there is that free one that Lost Patrol recommended.... I've tried it and it's fairly intuitive and easy to work with. Hmmmm..... not free, but supposed to be good, Breeze Browser & Capture One.

I am, therefore I create.......

Oops! Just realized you're on a mac..... the Pixmantec software RawShooter (the free one) doesn't support Mac at the moment.
