just would like some feedback on this image. Here's the original. kemal and i were both taking pics of this guy at the same time. the dang bird wouldn't stop moving, and it was really hard for me to compose this image.

do you like the original compo better or the cropped version?

any suggestions?? thanks guys. edit: i'm not thrilled with either of them.

cropped? they look the same in the compo... you playing tricks on me? LOL i really like the color version better :] nice perspective too

I believe it is the colour one that is cropped? Look at the rivets on the left side and it is slightly shorter. I also prefer the colour one, because of the peacock feather colours. LP

No I have changed my mind, it is the B&W that is cropped! See the pile of leaves on the left.

I prefer the colour version. B&W is the croped version !!! Sheila is right. Pay more atention before commenting :))) Carlos.

Both pix focus on (kernal) to me! The 1st image lets us see the colors of the p-cock! But everything else seems kinda FLAT and for a lack of a better term..."muddy" (IMO)

The B&W has added "POP" to me! There's more detail and it catches my eye more. You should try blending this with the color version!

hey...Did you get any closeups of the p-cocks feathers? Some wicked texture abstracts possible there!

Joe

joe, i agree with what you said. i wasn't happy with the color version because it just felt so boring to me. i like the postworked version a bit better but still find it a bit boring. It does have that "Pop" like you said. first one just feels so "blah." i like that Kemal is seen better in the 2nd one. i was really trying to focus in on kemal taking this shot. the first one i feel like there is not a strong focal point. do ya'all agree? i think the crop helps as far as focal point is concerned. good idea to try blending the two, Joe...or perhaps i could make the peacock's feather's color and leave the rest b/w. i'll keep playing with it. Carlos...i will try your idea too. great suggestion! Cindy, i need more coffee too!!! i have a "migraine hangover" this morning. feel like total crud!!! oh...yeah...here's a close up the p-cock's feathers. not a very good one though.

I prefer the cropped one but in color!! I'm a B&W fan but I think on this particular one it's a shame to lose the fantastic colors of the peacock! Just my 2c! ;)

JordyArt ( ) posted Sat, 05 March 2005 at 6:54 PM

Damn, I hate to do this but I'm gonna agree with Tibet here.... I like the crop of the second but the colour of the first. How unfair of you to change the picture so much and ask us to decide! Tsk. (",)
