I think this will be a better format for the banner challenge. I know we get set in our ways of loading them into a thread here in forum, but this will make it easier all around for viewing, voting, when time comes, and for me to not be searching through the forum posts looking for new uploads. We could even start setting the Monthly challenges this way too. I think I have all the correct info on the banner page. Anything I may have missed feel free to post here.

Excellent idea Doug...much easier...and time saver :) all in one place...nice work on your behalf.

damn, I saw the post on the front page, thought I'd find an entry from DB followed by a comment from jimry and was instantly gonna start loudly shouting "FIX!!!!" But damn, I can't. I have to be all nicey nicey and agree with jimry. Man, this is hurtin' me...... (",)

jacoggins ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 2:38 PM

yeah Jordy, I agree, being "nice" is so overrated sometimes....

Good idea Doug - I had noticed the banner challenge moved to the front page :)

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

I have one question Doug.. (All entries must be comprised of original photographic images created by the entrant) I'm assuming you can't use something you already posted?

DJB ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 6:49 PM

Not if it was in a previous banner contest. I think it is good to have all new creations, as is with our monthly challenges. It gets you creative and keeps the postwork skills up to date.

@Doug.. I was thinking of the "Ghost Ship" which I had just posted Feb 27th.. I felt pretty good about that one and had I been aware of the banner contest coming up I would have kept it for a couple of days. Just thought it might make a good banner..But not a big deal.. Just trying to get use to being active in a forum.

DJB ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 9:41 PM

You can use an image like that . Sure... I mean the image you use does not have to be taken in like the past week or anything. As long as it is your original photo and is incorporated into a banner. I thought you meant previous banner entry. Go for it and will look forward to seeing. Hope we get a lot of entries!

Speaking of which, I never get to see the current banner! All I see is a black 500x170pixels image. Can anyone tell me why? Do u actually see any image nor text on it??

BusyB967 ( ) posted Sat, 05 March 2005 at 7:58 PM

@tibet2004uk .. I see the present banner just fine. Have no idea why you can't

DJB ( ) posted Sat, 05 March 2005 at 8:05 PM

In your internet tools you probably have turned off market.renderosity.com images. If you do not see the animated banners at top then this is the case.

But I do see the animated banners at the top!! O_o I don't get this! :(

Try a right click "show image" .

I tried that before and it didn't work and now I don't even have the option anymore!! Weird!!!

What Browser are you using I noticed when I went in under IE I did see a black spot where image is,but then the picture loaded. I use Firefox now only. It now also has a really good spell check for use in the forms like this.
