Heavy Metal is most probably using painted pages. Ahem... we just published the first edition of our "Starry Ones" comic (done in poser/bryce), details available at the ole web site. MitchAttached Link: http://genericdesigns.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html
Well, I can tell you that the bass player in Magnum uses both Poser and Bryce - and he's done the cover art for most of their latest CD's plus a load of others too. His website addy is in the linkGill
Please don't anybody mention the cover for Iron Maiden's Dance of Death. It still gives me nightmares...

lol. don't know that one. is iron maiden still alive even? i had a friend in high school that was obsessed with that band. had all their albums, posters all over his room, etc. their "mascot's" name is/was eddy, which is the creature/dead thing featured on all their album covers. supposedly every album told a story about eddy's life. E.D.
I've wondered about Fred Beltran's characters - not Poser necessarily, but possibly images based on 3D renderings. I've posted one here.
More generally in the sf/fantasy field, Fred Gambino definitely uses Poser. I'll post a pic of his to demonstrate when I can dig one out.
There was a Vampirella Comic and Marvel Comics used a bit of Poser for their Heroes Return poster. (I would love to have the Celestial Poser characters, alas tis not to be.) Tempus Fugit (member here) also did a comic using Poser, Shanghai I think the title was.

Andi - he doesn't do Magnum's artwork any more but he does have his own website.... I did used to love those old covers .... even did my own Bryce/Poser copy of Vigilante LOL! Actually, just a little OT tidbit....I used to work for Mark Stanway's brother Paul LOL!Gill
Thanks Gill, went to the site......god, there's some memories there. I used to have a signed Matthews print, which unfortunately got stolen when my place was burgled in 91. Now, I gotta go find me a copy of Storytellers Night...saw Magnum 4 times in 3 years around that era. happy reminiscent sigh

Getting back to Heavy Metal, yes there are occasionally stories that are done with 3D software (not necessarily Poser). The Fall 2004 issue had one for example ("Sinkha: Hyleyn"). I haven't seen the latest issue yet, so I don't know about that one.

The link is that our Moebius87 liked the 2D artist's work and named himself after him.

I was thumbing through the new issue of Heavy Metal last night at work and wondering if some of the contributing artists use poser, or a similar program, for some of their characters. Anyone know? Just a thought... E.D. P.S: or, does anyone know of any actual publications that use poser? Such as comics, magazines, etc. Issues that can be found in most any book or comic shop.
