Subject: Victoria: Is she worth it?

Just want some opinions-- I'm a relative newbie on Poser, and I've found no shortage of charachters and meshes and models out there on the net-- many of which are superb. With all those out there, is it really worth it to drop the coin on Vicky and all the necessary accessories? What is better about her? What kind of Poser user needs a Vicky? Thanks in advance for any help in this decision. --p.

Vicky is another alternative. Some people love her, some people hate her. My personal recomendation is that you play with Poser for a while before you start spending a whole lot of money. (Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt). There is plenty available for free download to keep you busy for a long time.

Yeah, stick with the free stuff for a while. I still use Posette for my stuff and then the free characters I downloaded from various spots. I am debating Vicky myself, but have heard a lot of horror stories both about vicky herself and the DAZ/Zygote store to make me hesitant--not only that, but the $60 price tag is no small change.

Well, I like her-and Mike, but I expect its personal preference. This has been debated many times--you might want to check the archives. Personally, the head is worth the money, IMO. I don't know about 'horror' stories--either about Vicky or esp. about the store. I've been buying from them for several years now and have found nothing but support and good 'stuff'.

Sometimes there are server problems with the Zygote/DAZ3D store, but their customer service is better than any company I have ever seen. They take care of problems almost immediately (except on weekends, they have lives, too). I have had a couple of problems ordering, some my fault, some due to server problems, but they took care of it to my satisfaction every time. And if you want to see expensive models, check Zygote's STATIC models in their 3D Model Catalog. Us Poser Folk have it made for buying 3D Models.

Victoria is priceless! Michael is another story...I am really starting to hate Michael. I can morph Victoria into any living female within 90%-99% accuracy. Posette, I can morph into something that looks not entirely like posette. -Darth

I like very much Victoria and there are a lot free stuff for her ,I never make her with a bad look because she have lot morphs. But for the clothing,i think Victoria have lack of it for now. After plenty of textures for standard P4 woman, it seems to me that people did recently many news and nice ones with photorealistic bases,so this woman becomes also very nice too.If you have money for ,buy VIC,if not P4 woman is still a model with lot of possibilities

All, thanks for your inputs. DARTH-- your cemment is interestin. Perhaps that's Vicky's best quality. I'm going to spend more time with the freebies for now, but Victoria isn't ruled out. FYI, the EVE character and various versions, particularly those I found at MorphWorld are just great and ought to keep me well occupied for quite a while. --P.

Peeseua: the two figures I find most useful are Vicky (NOT the default, however) & Eve 3 (available free at Morph World). Now if I can just graft Eve's outstanding butt onto Vicky or do a morph that looks the same! In some ways, I find Eve poses better, but I think she needs modifications in some parts, especially the legs. I much prefer Eve's shoulder/collar areas for poses in which the arms are raised above horizontal. However, Vicky's face is the best available in my opinion. Darth is 100% on the money: Vicky can become anything you want. For now, though, if money is a problem, Eve is a terrific freebie.

Michalki: Thanks for your insight. I said before that I'm relatively new to Poser, and also to human figure modelling. I reckon I'll educate myself on the freebies first. All the vicky stuff, though, is just so tempting.... Where's good gallery of vicky images? --P.

Zygote/DAZ3D had a wonderful Vicky gallery (jschoen) and I just checked and its not up at this point--but check later. It was wonderful.

Best reason for buying Vickie- Super Model Vickie! ;) From left to right, Vickie, SMV, Posette, no morphs, standard textures. (SMV actuall sells with other hair, this was a early version). But others have gotten almost similar results with available free morphs or characters, but in all cases you have to buy her first.
