Subject: Vue Atmospheres to Cinema 4D and Ozone Ques.

JJ54 ( ) posted Tue, 08 March 2005 at 11:43 PM · edited Sat, 10 August 2024 at 6:07 AM

Perhaps there are some Cinema 4D users that can answer this. I have Vue 5 Studio and will be getting Vue Infinite when released. I use Cinema 4D R9. Would there be a reason for me to purchase Ozone since I already have the Vue programs? Is there an advantage? Since I am fairly new to both programs, I stand in ignorance about this or how I might even use Vue with Cinema 4D. Thanks in advance. Jim

not sure since i dont have ozone, but from what ive understood ozone is not up to par with what youll be able to produce with lets say v5I. So since youve preordered v5I, why not wait til you get it and see what that brings you as far as v5I <> c4d import/export goes.

As a Lightwaver I can tell you that the difference is that Ozone plugs directly into LW, and you can edit and make adjustments to your atmospheres directly from inside my LW environment.(Animate, lighting, etc.) With VueInf. "I believe" that any atmospheres will have to be edited/modified from inside Vue and re-exported, possibly a significantly more tedious procedure.

Ozone basically gives you the atmosphere editor from Vue, but inside the C4D environment. Unless there have been significant improvements to the atmosphere editor for Infinite, which as far as I know isn't the case (in fact, as far as I know it is exactly the same as in Vue5E), there wouldn't be much difference quality-wise. Ozone does allow you to tweak setting inside C4D and check their effect on your scene. If you stick to Infinite, you will have to switch back and forth between the two apps, and probably need to reimport a skydome several times to get things right.
