My next step into creating Lattices with far too much detail for my own good. Just an unneccessary, decorative coverpiece for a gear, there will be four on each. I'm just doing a dry run with the texture. From left to right; -Lattice with plain gray color. -Diffuse texture applied. -All maps applied with settings tweaked. Screwheads are primitives. This really looks great, i love unneccessary things, most of them are more beautiful than the neccessary onces ;)

I don't know if you tried this yet, but in the middle shot you have the diffuse texture darkening the pattern in the metal, this gives it a look like dirt has collected in there. If dirt has indeed colected in there then in real life the reflectivity in there should also be less or (close to)nothing even? And the specularity should be more dim and diffuse in there too, I don't know if you tried that yet? might add just that little extra touch to it :)

Very nice AS! Looking forward to what you do with it.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Very cool AS! Do I detect the use of the previously offered Redfield Plug-ins?

Hi AS
Did you get a chance to use the new wacom on that or is your wacom like mine a very nice looking cordless mouse pad?

Wacom tablet - Use it all the time. ;o) I'm mostly practicing doing 2D painting, and learning some ZBrush. Redfield plugins - actually, none used here, but it would have worked just fine for that. Its based upon a seamless metal "mesh" map I had made some time ago, but never used. It was made when I had a 30 day demo of an Alienskin Photoshop plugin called "Textures - Weave". Actually, I will have to seperate that inner metal mesh as it is looking too much like the rest of the (brass) metal. (and it shouldn't be) AS
