Subject: skeleton and don (for walk designer) matching

NHArtist ( ) posted Sun, 13 March 2005 at 7:05 PM ยท edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 1:47 PM

I would like to match bones and body parts and animate the skeleton and one of the figures in Poser 5. I notice they are of different sizes.I tried to match size as best possible and they come close. When trying to match hand bone positions with (exam.) finger positions: the program says "Some info stored in this library does nor pertain to figures of this type". I am trying to get them to walk togeather (skel & body) with a semi tranparent bodyskin for an illustration. Any one seen an example of this before or is it posible??

I think the skeleton was made to match Dork, the Poser 4 man. You might try it with him.

I'm tempted to retool both skeletons so that they match the proportions of all major human Poser figures, and conform properly, thus ending this issue once and for all. But the meshes are so wretchedly low-detail (particularly the skulls), that I doubt it'd be worth it. Opinions?

Maybe Poser 6 will have a better skeleton?

Little dragon, that would be good, the skeletons are low resolution but there is no alternative. Some mapping might make the skeletons seem more high resolution.

... but there is no alternative.

Well, Andi3d offers Screamin' Sid now, but I don't know how well it matches or conforms to other figures.

On further thought, I wouldn't want to have any negative impact on Andi's sales, so perhaps I'll hold off on that project for a while.

The DAZ skeleton isn't bad. Except the teeth. The teeth are solid, instead of separate teeth. I've been thinking about buying the Millennium Teeth, just for the DAZ skeleton.

But I'm still hoping the P6 skeleton is better. Sid looks nice - very stylish and spooky - but he's not really very realistic looking. The DAZ skeleton with its head replaced with Royloo's free skull is the best solution I've found. The skull is a morphing prop, so it's easy to do.

IIRC, the skeleton is the size of the P2 man... not even Dork... but I should check. Andi has a wicked skeleton, great for goth or Hallowe'en or summonings gone awry... but not very good for medical work or a scene where we are to feel pity for the victim. It also is only for the male. Female skeletons are a bit wider in the hips and our knees/elbows are connected a bit differently, but that is a subtle point... not useful unless your skeleton is going to throw overhand! There are no kid or baby skeletons that I know of at all. I guess even evil scientists with radiation labs have their limits. ;^) Carolly
