Excellent work and a great entry, dont know much about this disorder, but the cover girl (thin look) is an issue everywhere I think. Link did not work for me!
Excellent entry! I do believe that our culture and society's obsession with thinness should take a lot of the blame for this...... Link took me to microsoft.....!
I am, therefore I create.......

This is REALLY BRILLIANT WORK!!! I all aspects, Cidy!! I just love and admire your creative mind :) Allso admire the serious side.. This is a very importain issue....how can we live in this "fixed" obsessive world ? And how can we help our children...well not just children....every body who suffers by a wrong selfimage in the rich world.. I think its very sad..all billions of money that people spend on redo them self, and they dont become happier (well I dont think so)...allso comparing with people from the 3:d world (poor contries) who dies, having no money to buy food...or medicin..VERY SAD...luv ya' sweetie..Puss 6 Kram

Dito Michelle...did you ear dear sis...beside the beauty of your daughter...the problem of teen : DYSMORPHOPHOBY ? May be too serious : http://www.caligari-film.de/Website/Englisch/Info/Schmetterlinge.htmNice shot Cyn - they green definately goes well. Daughter looks like a nice example of offspring..... ;-) Now, over here in the UK we have massive social conflict with this at the moment. According to reports yesterday, 2/3 of adults here are obese.....obesity in children are at an all-time high... magazines show slim models a few pages before articles on how fat Britain is becoming.... McDonalds et al are being slammed for being unhealthy.... and a magazine that was lying about yesterday had articles on the pressures of girls in today's society to look thin and the disorders associated.....and then an article about an actress from a TV series here called Fat Friends about a slimming club... our last Pop Idol winner was a very 'large' girl.... Sophie Dahl became famous for being a larger model - then slimmed down...... 5 magazine pages devoted to the diets the stars are on...... So, the message here is "It's ok to be big, it's WHO you are that counts!" No, the message here is "You're too fat!" No, the message here is "It's ok to be big, it's WHO you are that counts!" No, the message here is "You're too fat!" And we wonder why we have disorders like these?! (",)

had this idea with the mirror & Body Dysmorphic Disorder, was just waiting for my daughter to come visit... the magazine was placed there as added incentive to be thin... was going to distort her image but after messing with that I changed my mind & layered a slightly larger version on top"It's estimated that Body Dysmorphic Disorder affects 1 in 50 people,
mostly teenagers and 20-somethings... people with anorexia and/or bulimia themselves
literally cannot look in the mirror and see the same person that everyone else sees...
BDD isn't just shown in cases of eating disorders (someone afflicted with BDD can obsess
not about weight, but instead about their hair, nose, chest, etc.)
Depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, anxiety issues, agoraphobia, and trichotillomania (hair pulling) are all problems that commonly follow or trigger BDD."
