Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
What are you using for the blanket? The high-res square?
It might help to save your work, exit Poser, and get back in. When the Cloth Room isn't working right, it's often because there's not enough memory. Closing Poser and getting back in frees up memory and usually fixes the problem.
It should work. I've done it.
im useing Mapps free p5 dynamic bed set. i let it run for 2 hours with no change. one other thing i did a production mode test render for the pic and the pillows rendered in a diffrent place and the bed lookedlike it was made of balloons! im so confused i have never had any problem with poser 5 before
OK as a quick note, any problem with a freebie of mine feel free to IM me. IM always willing to help, and I can make changes to the original file if it turns out to be the problem. A few of my freebies are marked "fixed" or "Corrected". It could be a problem with the number of items in the pic for a high mesh total. Collision is calculated at the vertex level and the more of them there are the longer it will take. If you are using Mike and Vicky for example, use the Low res figures to caculate the dynamics the regular figures are the same shape. Just be sure to save the poses. Also remove all unneeded items like hair. Just the figures and cloths (if any). You can put the figures and bed level and have them in the final pose, don't start from zero. Position the sheet high above them and not flat angle it like "/" it will hit on the low end first and crumple in that direction. About 30 degrees if you just want it down a little and about 60 degrees if you want it pushed way down. I don't remember saying that draping should be turned off. I'll have to check the readme to see what I was talking about...lol You should be able to just use drape. Set up the values and drape frame and hit calculate drape. That alone may giv you what you are looking for. The rest is more useful if you are adding wind or ar moving the character after it is drapped. A time saving note, once you get the sheet to lay the way you want it. Go under object in the pose room and choose "spawn morph" it will add the final shape as a morph to the sheet and you can remove the cloth dynamics all together, this way if you want to use it again you have the sheet morph and the matching poses saved and can just apply them. Want the sheet to slide down? Use the Morphed sheet and start with it. Tilt the bed and figures now and calculate drape again. It will slide down from the morphed positiion. Do keep inmind though that when you tilt the bed the sides will hang pointing to the foot of the bed. You can get around this by using the dynamics start with the morphed sheet and use few or no drap frames. make the animation about 5 frames long and move the sheet down toward the bottom of the bed on the 5th frame, it can stick right through the bottom of the bed and the figures. The dynamics will fix this as it creates the frames. The sheet will move over the figures and collide with the foot of the bed and crumple up. Note again that too much "crumple will cause the program to go nuts on the time and the end result will look bad with jagged folds. you can get around this by shrinking the length of the sheet on the 5th frame to cause less crumple at the foot. :-)

okay heres the problem..... I am makeing a picture that has 2 people posed on a bed. what i was is to drape the blanket on top of them and then have it slide down tward the foot of the bed a little. what i did was set them and the bed up place the blanked in position of how i want it to lay and raised it above them. then i set up the dynamics settings all of it default except i use all the options on the clothify check boxes. i set it to collide agenst figure 1 figure 2 figure 3 and the bed prop i set the drape to 20 frames then i hit calculate drape then it sits...and sits...and sits...not respondeing what i was going to do after this i was going to move the blanket down stards the foot of the bed a bit and calculate simulation but i never get to that part because the first calculation never finnishes what am i doing wrong? is there a way to have it calculate each object sepratly and still work on them all? Can anyone help? anything you can do will be greatly appreaciated sincerly Grace37
