Subject: How to simulate a terry-cloth texture

Note the towel on the lap of this figure. What might I have done to create a terry-cloth texture? Could I add short "hair" in the hair room? In the material room, could I add noise?

Thanks for any ideas you can offer...

I'd try messing around with the noise nodes, or perhaps a cell node with a very small scale placed in the displacement node on the main branch and then add a velvet node to the diffuse node with white and very light grey for colors (if white is the color you're going for)

Can't try it here to see if it works, but if you get a chance to try it before 6 hours from now (when I go home) let me know. I've been experimenting with the nodes in the material room to make textures of late and would be interested. (link is to another post to see one that I worked up yesterday)link Ohh I added a nudity tab for those of us at work. (luckily I'm fast with the down scroll)

Sorry about the nudity! I didn't realize, until you pointed it out, that this is something one should indicate when posting! Good to know for next time!! I will try your suggestion and let you know what happens. Thanks.
