Hello all, have you guys read curious labs site , where it says, I quote "Poser 6 comes with thousands of pieces of included 3D content, all ready-to-use for your artwork" I personally never saw Poser 5, come with thousands of premade stuff, like characters and props, it's more like it was 100 or less. So if i'm getting 1000 things, that would be great!!! And they better be good and high quality, high texture stuff. I doubt it, that preview image where they showcase poser's OPENGL capabilities, the character is like the generic cheap Poser 4 man. he didn't look anything good, just look at the shoulders and the shirt. well, but i'm still keeping hope for the 1000 things. This is what i would like - Trees and nature stuff - mountain , rocks etc - plenty of cars -plenty of houses and buildings -plenty of food props -lots of dresses of all kinds, and men clothes too etc, etc thank you very much anyone else, who has wishes for the 1000 content library, just feel free to post it like i did. and so what you guys think, will there be 1000 things? 900 or less, or at least 800?

IMHO, Poser 5 had a few community members who provided some cool content. Whether P6 will offer thousands of content items remains to be seen. According to other threads here, it appears that several MP creators will offer some of their items with P6; I am looking forward to seeing it all and I'm sure that I won't be disappointed. I agree that there should be a robust wardrobe for Jesse / James et al, but it seems to me that trees / rocks / mountains are better handled with / by native applications (like V5I, which I am eagerly awaiting); I think the MP has an excellent variety of (not free) cars / houses which is great when you need something specific. I'm also trying my hand at the Lightwave modeler but so far my stuff looks like kindergarten art. Just my two cents

" - Trees and nature stuff - mountain , rocks etc - plenty of cars -plenty of houses and buildings" is this sarcasm? if not you should look into bryce personally rather than 1000 things that ill never use, id rather have 2 high-quality figures. i wont hold my breath though.

Note that the thousands of items included include all previous content plus the new stuff. That would include figures, textures, light sets, poses, geometries, materials, faces, hands, cameras, and the rest of the assortment. Poser 5 has well over 800 things in it -- it would not be too much to achieve more. As to the value -- well, odds are it would match the value in general of some basic stuff sold through here, as well. Meaning there is a lot of crud, and a few noteworthy pieces. Besides -- the content sales line isn't for you. It is for the new users. As for naturals -- I believe that anyone not looking at some of the stuff currently available for poser in that method is doing themselves a disservice. With some of the naturals sets out there, Poser 5 in the hands of someone who has a reasonable amount of skill is a match for Bryce on smaller scenes (say, up to about a mile in area). Which is not to detract from Bryce or even Vue -- both applications are wonderful and work well with and without Poser. Just that The new incarnation of Poser is much more powerful than most people herein are aware.

Well, just start counting all the content that came with Poser 5, including the content cd..... and you'll come close too, if not over a thousand things. So I don't find this too hard to believe at all. By the way, poses count too and there are 100's of them in Poser 5!

I do think you and CL are viewing content a little different:

"1000's of pieces of poses, morphs, clothing, hair, materials, and accessories are also included."

That's content according to CL and it is isn't it?. There's far over 1000 of that in Poser 5.

"New Poser figures are fully rigged for posing, and include fully articulated hands and photorealistic texture maps - Over 1000 new poses for figures & each figure comes with a rich set of full body morphs, and facial expression morphs - New hair, clothing, light sets, and accessories are included to complete the new figures"

Poser 6 will have so much NEW stuff with it too and I do believe it..... and I'm looking forward to it very much.
"Besides -- the content sales line isn't for you. It is for the new users." Well according to the above quote from CL, it's for use too!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

So, if you can't afford it, what are you using?

He said "right now". And me, I'm hitting a money crunch right about now, myself. So I'd have to wait a few months to upgrade.

"I personally never saw Poser 5, come with thousands of premade stuff, like characters and props, it's more like it was 100 or less." This tells me that he has an unofficial version or something a friend gave him with just the standard figures and the executable. If he had the Content CD... he'd know about the hundreds of items already inside Poser 5. He would have seen them. An entire CD worth of them. He'd know about the themed areas such as the Japanese room, or Don's armor, or the skateboard and other fun stuff, or the wizard and magical supplies... STUFF. Lots of STUFF. Even if he was back on Poser 4 or ProPack, the official versions come with content CDs. Carolly Carolly
