Hey you all.... The other day nongo posted this photo: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=906903&Start=1&Artist=nongo&ByArtist=Yes The same day I was gonna post my photo that is quite similar to that one, but i didnt since they were so alike...seeing its been a couple of days now i thought that it might be okay to do so now...or am i wrong? Would appriciate getting your opinions on wheter I should just delete it from my harddrive or if i should infact post it....dont wanna make an ass out of myself...more than i have to...blah blah... Andreas

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Post it just retitle it " Snap " I don't see any moral issue if all of our shots had to be of different subjects I think the site would have closed down through lack of support a long while ago.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

My dear Andreas, maybe u should care less about what other people do! ;) Beside, I don't find them similar at all! U have strange ideas sometimes..... O_o

LOL - Andreas, I've had EXACTLY the same thought tonight!!! I was going to post a follow up to my bridge shot with a different angle, only to see an image similar to what I was gonna post by a guy in Amsterdam!!! So, mine's a double-dilemma..... do I post my pic which is like his pic which is like my pic?!? ROFL (",)

I'm not sure there is a 'moral' issue. There must be thousands of 'similar' pictures out there. I propably have many dozens of them myself, burried in my archives, B & W from 30-40 years ago and more recent color slides and prints. Besides, IMO your image is not even close to nongo's. The only thing in common is the subject and maybe the evergreen trees in the background. The pictures are by different artists, taken at different times, in different place. Go ahead and post it. I won't pass judgement on either, I like both...

quite alright, it's up to you andreas, i've switched out at the last minute then posted that one later for much the same reason & cuz i just got to be different :]

Even if it is similar, it is your image, nope wouldn't delete it. Might post it later but definately not delete it! My two cents. Brenda :)

I find it complimentary to see that other good photographers have the same interest.I believe nongo would enjoy it just as much as you... now on this image..remember I wanted to start a thread on colour corrections to snow. after dinner I think I will.

You know what they say"Great minds think a like" okay if you don't like that one how about " imitation is the most sincere form of flattery". In any case I don't think it is an issue, it is all art, and the more the better! I see Renderosity (photo section) as a community of cooperation; not competition.OMHO:}

ReBorneUK, to that I say "you should never argue with a fool because if someone else is listening they can't tell you from the fool":}

Y'know, I keep telling people that very thing, but they still insist on arguing with me. sigh (",)
