Subject: Does P6 work for you or not? (yes or no in the subject line)

Make sure you have current video drivers.

Haven't had much time with it yet, but what I have done with it works just fine.

I was on the Beta team, so I guess if some bugs survived it's a little bit my fault. Just know I beat the crap out of P6 durign testing. All of bugs I found were fixed, some of them I know drove the programmers nuts. Feia, what's the trouble. May be I can help. (Send me an IM or start a new thread) Nerd3D, Poser 6 Beta Tester

On balance I more happy than unhappy. I'll likely stay that way unless something major turns up.

Plusses: OpenGL seems smooth and fast. Like larger space in library palette. Better handling of keyboard shortcuts. New content - varied some good stuff, new figures seem good but lacking in no. of morphs out of the box (spent too much on DAZ figures recently to be keen on buying yet more morph packs) Renderer seems sluggish compared to P5 (see link), but the OpenGL preview is good enough for most scene composing prior to export to Vue for rendering.

Played with it for hours now and no problems at all. I love it!

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Works great! only very minor issues (1 or 2) here. Nerd, I need to start a thread to see if you concur on something.

Seemed to work from simple testing

FishNose ( ) posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 4:01 PM

Works for me. But I've managed to stress Poser 6 to a hang once now. Pressed during a looooong character load. Poser went -urk- and died totally. Vanished except for still being visible in taskbar - but actually running anywhere.

squid69 ( ) posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 4:22 PM

but life's little problems (like work, cleaning house, truncated downloads, uncooperative render machine, etc) keep getting in the way.

gothicenchantedangel ( ) posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 4:41 PM

Well not encounted any problems yet apart from my inexperience with Poser in general LOL. But I'm looking forward to learning more.... Oh and kids, housework etc getting in the way as well lol.

Arasii3d ( ) posted Tue, 22 March 2005 at 11:54 PM

Yes, except for a minor annoyance... more asthetic rather than functional... (afaik) I get a funky little square with horizontal lines for a cursor when on the document workspace. Probably has to do with an older vid card (upgraded as high as it will go now but still old, and not fully compliant) Only way I can upgrade would be to get a full new system. And I can't afford that. SIGH But the openGL preview (beyond the cursor... is it supposed to look like that??) works. It's slightly more sluggish for me than p5, but I ignore that cuz of my system limits, which are square at the base of the system requirements LOL But I'm willing to overlook these niggles for all the improvements. :-D Arasii

Insanity is like chocolate... a little bit hurts no one.

Yes on an older Dell, 1 gig, XP, about a gig of ram Yes on a Mac Mini, 1.42 gig, OS 10.3, a gig of ram, firewired to the G4 running ProPack so that I could dig into the Runtime. Large scenes and sailing ships coming across the line nicely. Next is to clear my head and properly network these beasties into a team. Carolly (helping test there near the end)
