Can I disconnect Paradise?

You can remove the Content tab, as many did with P5, by hacking an XML file. I've always doubted that this truly removes Paradise from Poser, but at least you won't be able to see it any more.

You can block Poser from accessing the 'Net with ZoneAlarm or some other firewall.

Be aware that P6 also has an auto-update feature now, and will attempt to contact the CL server on every third launch to check for new patches and the like. You can disable this feature from your General Preferences menu, if you find it annoying.

I a little shakey about web connections I can't conrol. Auto Up Date, and Paradise connections are something I like to eliminate. I'd like to determine where and when I go on the web. Unfortantly I not Tech smart.

Go to PoserPros and look in the P5 Tricks & Tips forum. The instructions are near the top in a post from Netherworks. Joe has alos tested that it still works with P6. I believe it does remove the links to Internet Explorer browser routines. When tested on P5 (pre SR4/4.1) it reduced memory footprint, all accesses to the 'Net, and most specifically speeded up intra-process communication significantly (i.e. when switching between P5 main window and the Parameter Dial window). The removal process is not difficult, just a little exacting, but as long as you don't overwrite the original file, you can make multiple attempts to remove it, if you fail to get it exactly right the first time.

I think it's really annoying that companies assume I'm online when they make their products. I have several ways of accessing the internet, but the system I'll be installing Poser 6 is not online, nor do I even play games on it. Didn't we go through this already with Poser5, or did they just assume we'd all be connected by now?
