Wow. I don't know what happened, but this is sure a change in tone from your earlier post.

whatever, I know assholes on here do things out of spite, no problem. I guess they didnt like my comments in the TOS threads and I have no intensions on clicking your link. later.

Birddie, there are gallery trolls who post cruel things out of spite. They don't pick on anyone in particular; they don't know anyone here, and just flame whatever they come across. They probably never set foot in these forums, so they won't see your message here.

If your gallery gets trolled, IM a mod and ask them to delete the offensive post. (Yes, trolls get banned, but they just change their nicks and come back.)

If, OTOH, you got constructive criticism and don't want any, disallow comments when you upload. Or post in the beginners' gallery, where people will take your inexperience into account.

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 7:58 AM

You post your renders anywhere you like and just ignore these jerks. Sometimes I've seen them on a roll where they go through and slam everything they see. I wouldn't let them run me off like that, just post in the comments that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and ignore them. Getting so tired of rude people here. I wouldn't have the mods remove any rude comments, let other people see these jerks for what they really are, rude ignorant lamers. Marque

JenX ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 9:04 AM

Birddie, seriously, don't let the trolls get you down. If you get nasty comments or IM's, let me or one of the other Mods/Coords know, and we can delete it for you...I know it doesn't erase the fact that it happened, but when it comes to trolls....you really have to remember that their sole purpose is to tick you off. You've already pulled your gallery, so I can't see what happened, but seriously, we're all here for you. If I can help you at all, let me know, k? Jeni a.k.a. MorriganShadow

Birdie, you gotta take the good with the bad, if I recieve any comments good/bad or indifferent, I'm just glad someone took the time to post a comment. It sucks when you have an image that has over 1000 views and only 2 or 3 comments. I take comments over views anytime.

thixen ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 9:42 AM

Personally I'm with Marque. Although I've been lucky enough to not be trolled here (although I have been on other sites) I'd just leave the comments, reply to them (you can do that and not effect your rating) with something witty like 'am I under a bridge cause there is a lot of troll round here' and let other people who visit your gallery see them for what they are. If the ppl here are like the other sites Trolls will be both punished and shuned. Here I've been the victim of I guess you can say the anti-troll? I'm not sure what you call them, people who give so 'gushing' praised you know that they are just being jerks. I just ignore them too.

Birddie ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 10:45 AM

I was trolled for one reason only, the comments I made in the TOS thread. I can take the good with the bad but calling my Aiko renders kiddie porn was out of line and I know when things are done out of spite. Being constructive with comments on how to make improvements is onething but shooting down my only three images was another.

My gallery's AWOL, too. Looks like server problems but who can tell? Added: It's back again now, they must've fixed it.

What I don't like is that you accuse the people who did not agree with your comments in the TOS threads and since I am one of those I take the asshole comment personally. Sorry Birddie, but you are simply not that important to me that I would take the time to troll your gallery - I would not even have looked at your gallery if I had known you have one. If I have something to say I say it directly and you can have the asshole back, thank you.

dont care Puntomaus, dont care if I'm important to you or any of the other trolls on here dont care if you didnt like my comments in the TOS either, My statements stand. and will not take back any of my comments for you or anyone else. including the asshole remark. I calls them as I see them by assholes I was referring to the people who get their jollies off by trolling. I get a kick how I'm not allowed to voice my opinions on here, it is really laughable. I have NEVER shot down anyone's galleries, even if I disagreed with them. when people feel the need to personally attack me in a thread, I will fire right back, and neither will I be scared off. I come here to enjoy myself, not to be treated like a POS. thank you very much. I wouldnt care if all that crap winged, nude art was gone tomorrow, it still wouldn't affect me. end trans.

This had nothing to do with the Terms of Service thread Birddie. You made a post to the forums here asking for comments regarding your gallery, so I commented on them, as YOU requested. If you didn't want comments and advice on your gallery, why did you ask for them? To put it quite simply, you asked for comments and suggestions, and I answered them. If what I wrote was not what you were looking for, then why did you ask?You asked for help, and I gave it to you, however, if you were looking for someone to smooch your ego, and "tell you how GREAT they are", you came to the wrong place. While I am new to posting to this particular site, I am NOT new here, I've been observing this forum for some time. Far too often, the little cliques look at the renders and post "oooh's" and "ahh's", and how GREAT everything is, yet it's all lip service. So what you are saying is post comments if I stroke your ego, otherwise, leave my comments to myself if the render is NOT actually spectaular? Sorry dear heart, it doesn't work that way.

" whatever, I know assholes on here do things out of spite, no problem. I guess they didnt like my comments in the TOS threads and I have no intensions on clicking your link. later." Despite how your post comes across, I'm not going to take it personally. You are mad at the world right now and lashing out at everyone. FYI that link was to your thread about your gallery content and not the TOS thread. If you post things you need to be prepared for comments...good and bad. I do art to please my own eye, no one else's. If I post something to be viewed it's because i consider it to be "perfect". Whether it is to someone else is moot. It's impossible to please everyone, so I don't even bother trying. I work to please me and if others like it, that's just a bonus. Put your gallery back and set it for viewing only if you don't want negative comments, but don't let people run you off from what you enjoy doing.

I get a kick how I'm not allowed to voice my opinions on here You're allowed to. You're doing it. Other people are allowed to voice theirs, too, and disagree with yours, that's all. FWIW, I do think gallery trolling is pretty lame, regardless of whether or not a person makes comments in a thread that you like or don't like. bonni

Yeah, gallery trolling is lame-- but, honestly, so is whining about it. There are other recourses and you were given some in the above messages. By the way, Birddie, who are you? I have no idea. And without your gallery up, I'll never know, will I? I'm usually so supportive it's sickening, but I don't see any positive reception to a lot of heart-felt support from nice people here who seem to honestly care about you. At some point, you have give a little too. Or quit. It's a big gallery. Emily

lmckenzie ( ) posted Thu, 24 March 2005 at 12:04 AM

Sorry your gallery got trashed Birddie. I really don't remember which side you were on in the great TOS debate but if someone was retaliating against you for your views that's a new low--maybe not so new but a low nevertheless. I really wish everyone who is prone to do so would stop throwing the "kiddie porn" bombs. It is way to serious a term to be using to refer to something just because it offends one's personal sensibilities and should be reserved for the real thing. Put your pictures back and take one of the suggestions people have given. There are a few jerks in every crowd, -here is no different-you just have to learn to live with their Downers Syndrome.

Oh, so I'm a jerk for honestly answering her repeated requests to look at her galleries and post comments? The only troll here is Birddie, who kept trolling the forum looking for comments and lip service for her renders. I spoke what I felt about her gallery and this had NOTHING to do with the terms of service debate, in fact, to be quite honest, I didn't read it because frankly I didn't care. There are all sorts of characters like Aiko and The Girl that appear VERY much underage to me, yet here they are nude, in pinups, strip shows etc. here in the galleries. So I didn't even READ that debate. However, Birddie herself made a "kiddie porn" comment regarding fairies, what was the quote you made again? "I HATE FAIRIES", or something of that nature? I'm not overly excited about fairies myself, I could take them or leave them, but for you to piss and moan that someone said THEY FELT THAT YOUR USE OF AIKO IN THE CLOTHING THAT IT WAS POSED IN WAS DISTURBING AND REMINDED ME OF KISSIE PORN after comments like the ones you made earlier in this forum (I could drag up that link if you REALLY feel the need to whine further) is both hypocritical and in VERY poor taste and judgement. The bottom line here folks is that Birddie continually asked for comments on her renders, and so I complied and guess what? They didn't suck, but they had a few flaws here and there, so I pointed them out and offered suggestions for improvement just like she obviously requested with her constant begging for attention to her galleries. So who's really "trolling" here?? Is what you are saying was to kiss Birddie's a-- and tell everyone "how great these renders are" when I obviously didn't see them that way? THAT is hypocritical and a lie, and I'm sorry, but I'm not going to do it. If someone doesn't want suggestions and critiquing, then turn the comments feature for your renders off, because some of us call things like they see them.

former_racer, I have no idea what you poster regarding her picture(s). My use of "jerk" referred to anyone who would A. make negative comments on someone's art because of their opinions on the TOS issue. Note I said "IF someone was retaliating..." (Emphasis added). OR B. anyone making irrelevant, just to be nasty comments. If neither A nor B fit then rest assured I wasn't referring to you. People get trolled all the time. People feel they've been trolled when maybe they haven't all the time. I don't see a need for all this escalating hostility but obviously you two have pushed each other's buttons and I'll leave you to fight it out. I do reiterate that IMO folks should cut it out with the KP references, accusations, insuations, etc. For the record, I looked back at the "I hate faeries" post and the KP word isn't in it. It seems that by making a general comment on trolling, I've been perceived as defending Birddie and thereby taking sides in the Hatfields Vs. the McCoys here. Excuse me while I duck and low crawl out of Dogpatch. Please pick up your shootin' irons and git back to it.
