YES - I am a chronic moocher and because of this am in need of extensive therapy... YES - I like free stuff - who doesn't... YES - I can only model basic in-organic shapes in Bryce - and could not model organic shapes if my life depended on it... But - here's the deal... Several people out there like my SNOW THUG concept for a poseable model that can be used in Poser4 and is exportable to Bryce.I have had many good comments on it. I would put it to a vote - who would like to see the Snow Thug as a .obj, .DXF, .3ds, or POSER freebie - and who would like to / be willing to - take the challenge of building it? This would be no easy task - it's not a simple series of nerb blobs or geometric primitives - it would take some serious time and a measure of patience to get this thing right.HOWEVER - the flexibility of the model and the darn near endless add - on possibilities to this animal would make it an awsome offering for the community. Whomever makes this model owns the rights to the model itself - and I offer the concept to the public - royalty free and clear of any real or implied catches whatsoever - I JUST WANT TO USE THE MODEL IN MY COMMERCIAL / NON-COMMERCIAL PROJECTS with the same royalty free courtesy. At least I'm honest and up front about begging for handouts, LOL :) SO - whatever you guys decide is cool anyway - whatever...

P.S. - the same challenge has been issued to the Bryce community.

Good luck. You've just asked a community of people who make money doing this to do it for free. And openly advising it's going to take a lot of work to boot... But hey, you never know, right? :) kmw

I give stuff away for free all the time...SO?

that's what community means - helping EACH OTHER without catch 22s.

Yes, many do, I suppose. But that looks like a very complex character. You say so yourself. Imagine how long it's going to take to put together. How many morphs it's going to need. I'm just saying you're asking someone -- who probably has enough on his plate as is -- to put six months into this and I was wondering what're the chances that's gonna happen. No need to get upset. kmw

be careful what you ask for..I made a 'snow thug', but it's not the same..;) good luck, and hope it becomes available.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Well - it doesn't have to take six months - not everyone HAS a full plate - and the ones who do probably won't be the one's doing this project anyway to begin with. Someone just did a satisfactory head for this creature over in the Bryce forums - and that probably took about an hour or two. The most complicated part of this character would probably be the fur.Actually it's geometry seems to be a pretty basic proposition - it's your basic, garden variety hairy dinosaur, LOL. Facial expressions and mouth and eye postures would be where the real complicated morphs would come in - but those can be done later after the basic figure is boned and hammered out.Once you bake the cake - the icieing shouldn't be that big'a deal. It doesn't have to be textured - just templated for a texture - as I can do textures like a snap.UV MAPPER is freeware - and will give you a halfway decent texture template. This character would be fun to make because with more and more add-ons developed for it over time - and lots of different folks doing morphs and textures for it - the possible permutations and varieties that might evolve from this character are damn near infinite. You could take this creature and it's derivatives into a thousand different directions.

Admittedly, it'd take me months. If I could do it at all. :) But you are right, it would be a fantastic creation once completed. You might to change the 'snow thug' name tho, just to be friendly. I hope someone chooses to run with the project. If I could contribute to it, I would. But I'm not much of a modeler. Not even in the most generous definition. Good luck kmw
