Sheila's schedule popped into my mind today when I turned the calender over at work, and made me think about how fast the days are going. I got this image into my head, and tonight tried to create it.... I guess I saw some sentiment in the 'daily thought' too.... no, it's not postworked in, that IS what it says for today ;-) (",)

Heh! grin Good work here..... really like the postworked pages flipping off the calender.

I am, therefore I create.......

I echo Michelle... Longer exposure?

"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions."

I am impressed! It's the biggest issue in my life right now,and I never even thought about it being a social issue. At this pace our lives are speeding away from us fast. Half the time I don't know what day of the week it is, the date, and sometimes even the year! There is so much to do in the moment that we forget to live in the present:} I would also like to know how did the flipping pages? Nice post work!

Ah yes! This is a cool image indeed!! Like the effect too! Great entry Mickey! ;)

Yeppie...this is a real social issue! We are the "social" and how each does defines the issues to a large extent. I really like this entry.

Cheers guys, Nothing too technical I'm afraid.... dug the last 2 days out of the bin, curled the 21st up quite a bit round a pencil, curled the 22nd up a little bit the same way. Took pic of 23rd. Put them both back on, took pic. Took 21st back off, took pick. Postwork, I just cut out the curled pages from their respective photo's, pasted them as new layers and added a touch of shading across the 22nd that I couldn't include in the cut. Dropped the opacity of both layers to about 45%. Cropped it down to size, and voila. If anything I wasn't happy with the '22nd' photo - I've misplaced my little tripod so took the pics resting on a box on my desk....it musta moved...grrrrr! (",)

p.s. Doug, know what you mean - the grey-ness.. yeah. The camera was set to auto, but the lighting where I sit could be better... I'm gonna clear the loft again so I can use the old table I've still got up there with some better lights. (",)

this one is so perfect for social issues...our obsession with time...great work!

cynlee ( ) posted Fri, 25 March 2005 at 3:36 AM

you did really well in showing how quickly the time/days pass, do like the idea & postwork! sure there's a subliminal message in the quote :]

ReBorneUK ( ) posted Fri, 25 March 2005 at 11:33 AM

lol - You think THAT's a subliminal message? I think the darn calender was written specially for me..... March 24th - Have a very good reason for everything you do. March 25th - The optimist invents the plane, the pessimist invents the parachute. (I never look at tomorrows. If I did I wouldn't be able to look forward to seeing it tomorrow.) (",)

Mike, Very CREATIVE entry...thinkin' outta the box again EH? Thanks for sharin' the behind the scenes of how you brought your idea to fruitation (LOL)! It's stuff like THIS that lets everyone know a little more of what you're made of! BRAVO dude! COOL one! Joe

I like reading quotes like that... the worst I got was in a fortune cookie... "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst" I was like... hey! what kind of fortune is that! oh well...
