Since I've posted in this forum. I see some familiar posters, and some new. Just thought I'd drop by and post a little sample of something I've been messing around with. Cheap Infrared filter substitutes and the IR sensitivity of some "cheap" point and shoot digicams. This was shot out my back window using 2 pieces of heavily exposed and processed kodak 400 color film. (essentially black trailer pieces). The image comes out with a heavy magenta color cast...some slight processing in photoshop, and pow! Oh yeah, sony T-1. Not the best subject matter, but then this is only the start of my "experiment". I have also used several different types of film, plastics, floppy disks, etc... This is just the only shot that is really worth posting at this time. I'll keep you up to date when I find time to get more results.

There are several items I've been messing around with for IR filter substitutes. -Two pieces of unexposed, but processed E-6 film. (slides) -Two pieces of exposed, but processed color negative film. (the above image used 400 iso kodak over the lens) -An old 5 1/4 inch floppy disk. (the actual media) Exposure times vary. If you do a google you can find some info on the floppy disk technique. An actual glass IR filter is still the best as far as image quality goes, but these are sooo much cheaper, and also give slightly different results.
