Not exactly our favourite app, but i started this one out a few hours ago and just wanted to post some screenshots of the progress. And if anyone get some ideas out of this, the better. One of those extremely rare moments where i actually draw something... :)

Rochr, this is exceptional drawing/sketching! Are you planning another Bryce Masterpiece? Will C4D play a part as well, or will you go for the pure thing?

RodsArt ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 3:18 PM

PhotoShop?....Exceptional work Rudy. I know, I know, You really miss home. ;)

Thanx guys. :) Im not sure yet if im going for pure PS, use it as a backdrop in a render or something else. Not even sure about that sky. Itll probably look slightly more dramatic. Heres a little update. Still a long way to go. :)

Texture, texture, we want texture! Or not. Hmm. You could do a layer multiply blend with the third pic on the last image. And do a more cartoonish sky with storm clouds blended in. (Did Zhann had ones or it was britmccarry with her cloud pack?) And then a spaceship or something on the right hand side of the image. I love the third from the top most, with its comic book look. I just wish I had Sketch and Toon to create more of that kind of images. Hm. I do have something similar. We'll see. :-)

A couple of sentences with each picture would be nice, just to get an idea how things progressed, sort of like a little tutorial. Very Nice work indeed.

danamo ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 5:38 PM

Thanks Rudy, I find this very inspiring! I've never done such a thing in PS, but you have made me want to try it. Beautiful design work by the way!

MoonGoat ( ) posted Wed, 23 March 2005 at 6:31 PM

That's sheer awesome! Beautiful style!

I took the liberty of trying to enhance that comic book style in Photoshop... Of course, your finished image will certainly look better. :-)

I like it. :) The water is a nice touch and a different approach then i had in mind. Heres my final update for today. Think i have the lighting pretty much set, so it only needs some final touch-ups, citylights and props. Then it should be completed. Ill see if i can finish this one up until tomorrow.

Hang on a minute! You mean you scratch around with pen & paper for 5 minutes, drop it into Bryce? throw in a sky and then render a masterpiece that's better than anything I could come up with in a million years......??? That's it! You're definately OFF my Christmas card list! I gotta get more time for this......can't wait to see the end product.

Excellent work, Rudy, I think it would be rather difficult to model, but you could try 3D version too, looks like you are having lot of fun with photoshop, cheers !!! :D

Ok, the final update. Some touch-ups, lightwork and sunrays. I actually found an old wip render, that will make a perfect foreground for this one. Looks like it wont be finished today after all. :)
