I'm glad real skin shader will work. Now I'm hoping you and Morris will do a HyperREAL for Elle...

Stop press....looks like RealSkinShader may need a material or two added for full Jessi compatibility. Downloading P6 now to test. PBM, Elle?

Aeriol, I have not tested this yet (since I don't have a Mac), but I believe that with P6 CL were able to do some great work on tracking down the material room problem that existing in P5 that made Mac versions of RSS/HyperReal not viable. So things are looking good for Mac users.

That sounds great! I'm another one that's wishing it was available for the Mac :)

does your script call tkinter?

face_off ( ) posted Fri, 25 March 2005 at 12:21 AM

Yes - it calls tkinker. P6 for the Mac doesn't support tkinter, so we are working on another way of working the interface for the P6 Mac version of the scripts.

Any chance of a poser 6 version of M3? I know it would be incompatible with p5, but why not both?

Paul, can you take a look on the Subsurface Scattering in Poser6... I try but without great effect now... I think that Poser6 figures can well use your script it will make them more realistic for sure with the textures they use now.. success cath

zulu : Since the P5 version of M3 works with P6 - and the main beneficial differences between the P5 and P6 versions of the scripts are workflow - in the short-term there isn't a really compelling arguement to do a P6 only version of M3. However, as more ppl move across to P6, it will make sense for a P6 only version of the next version of the M3 script - but that might be a few months away.

cath : The FastScatter node provides backfacing sss only, not forward facing. So place a light behind the subject to see the effect.

OK, the FAQ has been updated with the script changes required to Jessi and James. Please note that both these figures do not have their bump maps connected when you load them, so for added realism, manually plug in the appropriate bumps for the materials Head, Skin and Gentials prior to running the RealSkinShader script. This won't be required for the P6 Character Realism Kit (which will automatically plug the right bump maps in for you).

Yeehaw and what great news to read that Mac users might be getting their day in the sun with HyperReal and RealSkinShader!!! :-)

I dare you, while there is still time, to have a magnificent obsession. --William Danforth
