Subject: Any One Got Poser 6 Boxed Version?

poseadel ( ) posted Fri, 25 March 2005 at 10:37 PM · edited Thu, 02 January 2025 at 3:38 AM

What can I do while waiting! I even suggested a system by which they can let us (the ones that ordered the boxed version) have a temp version say expires in a month till the box gets! I can't sleep, can't render, just coffee, more coffee ;-)

Well, you could spend the next few days planning all the things you will do when you finally get it...

I got an email today saying that my boxed version has shipped! It had a UPS tracking number with it, which when tracked, said it would be at my door on March 31.

ElorOnceDark ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 2:44 AM

Yeah, I'm still waiting on my boxed version. My account says "pending shipment". :-(

thefixer ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 3:44 AM

Waiting as well. So the folks using the software now (Poser 6) got the download version? I was wondering why I hadn't heard from Digital Rivers or Curious Labs ... Waiting, Rance

Turtle ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 9:56 AM

I checked at CL link to purchase and mine has not been sent yet.

So they must have gotten to Digital River yesterday. Wahoo! Of course, since I ordered Wednesday after seeing all the great reviews, I have to wait till all the preorders get filled....

I ordered my copy February 17th - still waiting :( Hopefully next week it will at least get looked at??? :)

momodot ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 10:53 AM

I had wanted to prepair my Alternate Runtimes so I could get right to work... I have arranged all my content install files... but now I feel there is to much unknown to me about P6 to move ahead. Is there a better set up for Alternate Runtimes then to use the P5 setup? How is that grouping of accessories with a figure managed in P6? Must the content be on the same Runtime? I had wanted to split my stuff up based around work flow: one runtime for figures and thier hair, one for toons, one for clothing, one for the figures' props, and one for scenes (rooms, environment props)... but must I instead make each runtime of a figure and the resources for that figure? I am out of USA... I figure I'll be waiting for that box :(

After reading about Stegy, I went to the digital pond, I mean river ;-) (rivers flow fast, not slow) put in my order # and pass. Few seconds passed like a life time spent in the depth of the no mans land... and.... Nop, still pending. Good product very bad CRM!

Dave-So ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 1:04 PM

Let me put it bluntly..just my opinion... DR SUCKS... do you remember when stuff would ship same day of release ?

Aureeanna ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 1:49 PM

They ought to put out a Demo version we can play with while we wait. I'd bet they'd get more sales too if they did. It's hard to quit a Demo and not buy the product after enjoying it for a month.

poseadel ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 6:27 PM

I agree with you Aureeanna, more so that it is easy to program in a timer. it takes only 30 min to do it. not to say that the timer can read the date from the Internet, not from your system, and thus no issue with you getting it active then disconnecting and keep setting the clock back. The main question in my view is: As a company, are we really looking to enhance our customers experience with our software, or not? Things like that build customer royalty, especially when other vendors may come up with a competing "Free" product.

Tempus Fugit ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 7:02 PM

It sucks when you pay for overnight shipping and end up as "pending".

Tyger_purr ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 7:52 PM

do you remember when stuff would ship same day of release ? Last time I checked "release date" was when it was on the shelves and the store would recieve it BEFORE the "release date". and the warehouses would ship mail order stuff TO THE CUSTOMER on the release dates. This is the first time i have ever heard a "release date" mean they would begin shipping to their distribution centers.

Dave-So ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 9:12 PM

yea..that's what I meant :) release date, as in you get it that day ... and pre-ordering would mean you got it the day of release as well...it probably got shipped a couple of days prior

ElorOnceDark ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 10:01 PM

Yeah, I think it's kind of lousy of them to take our pre-orders, insure them a customer base, and then they hold off our software for an indeterminate amout of time. My page looks the same as poseadel's. I put my order in March 7th. You would think the least they could do is give us a solid ship date.

Dave-So ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 10:06 PM

actually, what was the whole point of pre-ordering anyway ??

momodot ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 11:35 PM

My bummer is just that if I get it super late why can't they package in a quick burn of the service release... lord knows if I'll be able to download it on my aweful dial-up :(

hoppersan2000 ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 11:47 PM

A bit of gloating here, sorry.... but I purchased the date it was announced for sale (pre-sale) and tada! my date shows it will be at my door the 30th of this month, that is only because I shipped ground, not overnight. Sorry guys but sometimes I love to GLOAT!

ElorOnceDark ( ) posted Sat, 26 March 2005 at 11:49 PM

Dave-So Said: actually, what was the whole point of pre-ordering anyway ?? I'll tell you: They needed the commitment of our cash! We got sucked in! (Yeah, I know, it's the conspiracy nut in me)

Sorry guys but sometimes I love to GLOAT! So nine days from CL's "ship date" for those toward the front of the queue... (Nothing wrong with a good gloat now and then.) ;) They needed the commitment of our cash! We got sucked in! (Yeah, I know, it's the conspiracy nut in me) Nah, that's the realist.

momodot ( ) posted Sun, 27 March 2005 at 10:16 AM

I new for sure they needed the cash for their press, ship, and promototion... I went early figuring the upgrade price was our reward, but I like I said I'm not so happy that I'm gonna have to download a service release that came out before the first disc shipped, I understand why the CD had to press with bugs, I just wished that would offer to mail out the Service Release to those who pre-ordered... I got NO bandwidth on my connection :(

poseadel ( ) posted Sun, 27 March 2005 at 7:45 PM

hi, Just quick update. The Pending Shipment, is now a Pending Shipment! I think the good ppl @ digital-trickle are off over the weekend as I'm sure we are all not in any kinde of harry. Momodot, May be the Customer oriented ppl @ digital-trickle can create a version that is broken into several parts to make downloading it easier for low bandwidth.

Tempus Fugit ( ) posted Sun, 27 March 2005 at 7:58 PM

With past software releases, it's always been my experience that the "release date" was when it shipped to customers. I expected overnight shipping to mean I'd have it the next day - not after a week long trip to a distribution center. Digital River should have had it the week before, so they could actually release it on the release date.

poseadel ( ) posted Mon, 28 March 2005 at 1:58 PM

Also in most cases, if you buy the physical, you can download it too.

poseadel ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 1:59 AM

Your package is in the UPS system and is on time with a scheduled delivery date of Mar 31, 2005. Wooo Heeee heee haaaa weeee, ehm, I mean good news!

ElorOnceDark ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 10:22 PM

Yeah I just got an e-mail saying mine shipped too! Gotta go check the delivery date...

Dave-So ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 10:42 PM

mine got to the UPS ship point 90 miles from my house at 5:32am this morning...it got on a truck at 7:30pm tonight...and will arrive at my house sometime tomorrow... seems like it could have gotten here today...but maybe they load at night for the following day... It will still be a busy day...got Shade Standard upgrade right away as well....hefty box at 6.5 lbs.
