I was playing with Genetica, and imported some of my image textures and mixed them with their noise and other stuff in their lab and came up with these....I'm curious to see what they can be used for, feel free to download and use them, just don't re-distribute them (they're copyrighted ya know)....this app is really kinda neat to play with... for those that don't know it's Wood Workshops big brother

You can download demos of either at the link...

I'm getting Genetica2 when it comes out, more stuf to play with in it...=)

Thanks Zhann, I'm DL Genetica now.

Quest ( ) posted Mon, 28 March 2005 at 5:17 PM

Oops! When I try to install Genetica the installer says that it requires Microsoft (R).NET Framework be on my system. Guess I wont be using it. I dont like when one program relies on another mega installation for it to work. Just adds more crap to my hard drive. But Genetica looks like a good program ($125 USD). Thanks anyway!

The Microsoft (R).NET Framework is required for wood workshop also, it isn't very big download, and doesn't effect anything else. It's like Plant Studio, that also requires another app to function...but they're both free, and interference free.

Zhann, the Spiral Graphics site says: During installation Genetica may ask you if you would like the installer to automatically download and install version 1.0 of the .NET Framework. Selecting "yes" may take some time on a slower connection.Going to the download site it says: Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 is 23.1 MB and will take 2 hours and 12 minutes to download on my machine since Im on dial-up.

ooops, sorry, didn't know, I'm on DSL....I opted to dl from microsoft proper though and not thru spiralgraphics. I love the app it's so easy to use and with the new enhancements I hope to be turning out seamless textures for Bryce soon....
