nongo ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 1:44 AM

Yes, I kind-a like secret places too, also mysterious events or something spontanious??? Or how about synchronicity????? That would be a great visual challenge!!

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 2:14 AM

spontaneity, synchronicity, deja vu, cause & effect, exploring the 5 senses...

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 2:21 AM

working man blues, taboos, reflections/refractions, nostagia, irony...

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 2:22 AM

opps! we did secrets revealed... Apr 2004

DJB ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 3:00 AM

Next month I will make a whole new list with all the suggestions above!!!!! Have to keep it down to 10 or it gets too confusing. I think even 10 is too many to select just one for the month IMHO. For me....even when I go to a restaurant I like only a few things on the menu.

"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions."

L8RDAZE ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 7:45 AM

Can't really peg one down from the TOP 10...hard to think...need coffee!!!! Saw this on another site...thought it might be a cool idea to add or for future reference.... Its called Alphabet SOUP...basically ya find OBJECTS that are shaped or represent a LETTER in the English alphabet! (No signs or TEXT can be used) For example...y'know how some barn doors have that "X" design on the front...(Like THAT) Another idea... might be "RANDOM" Where's my caffeine fix....YAWWWNNN

TwoPynts ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 9:17 AM

That's it...Caffeine should be the monthly challenge. Anything and everything realted to coffee and it's favorite active ingredient! :) Seriously, I know it has been done, but I'm for NIGHT SHOTS. I'd like to get better at this type of photography and would love to get some feedback about it and see what others do. Or we could do Knight shots.... =^P --Kort

Zacko ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 9:26 AM

Oooh ooh, i personally like that "secret places" idea. Hope to see it as an option the next time. But if i have to choose from the one in that list i think i would have to go with "nightshots"...however "antiques" sounds neat too...nah, NIGHTSHOTS for me.

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

ok, i'll go for ANTIQUES/nostagia/old fart stuff out of the current list :]

HotLime3D ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 11:29 AM

I would like Secrets Revealed - April 2004

Erlik ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 12:11 PM

I'd like bridges. Pure selfishness, of course. :-) Mid-April, I'm visiting Budapest again, and there are bridges up to wazoo there... Zagreb also has bridges galore. Otherwise, yeah, I wouldn't have nothing against antiques.

aangus ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 1:54 PM

I'd like to see "Secret places" as a choice in the future too. Mean time I'll plonk for No 7 "Clouds"

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 1:58 PM

I'd go for water forms, antiques and night shots! And I know I'm not helping much here! Sorry! :P

dtp ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 3:00 PM

dbgrafix I belive the genial Idea is to post " my worsth portrait" Above for the MC I ment Antique Instruments or Music Istruments

CDBrugg ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 3:10 PM

Night Shots would have the advantage of encourageing me to use the tripod I hope to get for my birthday - lol. Anything except cigarettes.

Charles

zhounder ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 6:04 PM

Night Shots! Definately!

ryno ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 7:16 PM

I vote for antiques, but just to be fair I have a whole store full of them:} It would be a great opportunity for me to play at work, and get some decent photos posted of our gallery on our store's web site!

soloshado ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 7:20 PM

Out of the offered list...night shots is my choice. In the future a good offering might be mother with child. Either a pregnant woman or mother with any age progeny.

DJB ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 10:00 PM

So far antiques is heading the list. Trust me I will make a COMPLETE new list with all your suggestions from this thread for next month. Night shots is runner up as of this post.

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 10:18 PM

Erm..in my calculation Doug, night shots win with 8 to 7 over antiques! O_o

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 30 March 2005 at 10:54 PM

still have one more day renders time :]

DJB ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 12:41 AM

tvernuccio ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 2:01 AM

I apparently can't count either!!! i counted only 4 votes for antiques...Nongo, Cynlee, dtp, and ryno. Erlik...not sure...bridges or antiques. i thought he voted for bridges. i know i have this huge problem with numbers, but i keep scratchin' my head trying to figure out how you guys are comin' up with so many for antiques!!!LOL...my problem with numbers has obviously become more severe!!! LOL!! :) as long as we don't have a challenge for numbers, anything is fine!!!! LOL! :) Either way...i'm ready to rumble!!!!!" :) i have a REALLY cool antique i never photographed....if it ends up winning i'll take a pic...ya'all will be soooo surprised!!!

I'm not sure u counted my antique AND night shots votes here!! It's 1 point each cos I want them both equally! ;) And yes I know it's a pain! Sorry! :D

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 12:22 PM

pascale i counted your vote as waterforms since that's what you put down first, it's too difficult to vote for several imo but you can certainly change your vote :]

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 12:37 PM

Mmmmh! Ok then, let's go for...night shots! or Antiques maybe?? Oh man!! Really, I have no preferences between these 2! ok, let's say night shots since it's gonna be much easier for me to shoot!

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 12:41 PM

thanks pascale... that helps :] hope ya'll don't mind me keeping track for doug... night 7 antiques 5 (with 2 putting it as their 2nd choice) secret places 2 bridges 1 clouds 1

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 1:16 PM

LOL! Yea I have the same problem Richard!! I guess to find an antique shop around is the solution! There's plenty in England! Or charity shops maybe!? They have some interesting stuff sometimes!

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 1:19 PM

how bout grandpa... he's an antique :D

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 1:37 PM

LMAO@Cyn! I don't have any grandpa nor grandma left unfortunately! :(

Erlik ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 1:44 PM

And how 'bout an antique something? Does it have to be an antique piece of furniture or antique jewellry? Remember, every car over 25 is an antique. Old steam train engines... a historical place can give you antiques. England is full of places listed as tourist attractions. :-)
