Subject: Need a free download host with no BANDWIDTH issues!
For now-200 to 300 meg,and preferably indefinitely... HOWEVER - my stuff can be freely distributed by ANYONE for download on their own site, or on CD media on their site - provided that: #1, The site does NOT go beyond "NC-17" rated material on the site (Nudity and adult themes,fine - gross x rated material or profane/vulgar material that may even violate legal standards - huh uh,no way.) #2, You cannot charge a registration fee for someone to gain access to the materials.Free registration for access sure, no prob. #3, It can't be offered as a freebie only if you buy something else - it has to be open to all. #4, If it's distributed on a CD-ROM - you can only charge the adjusted cost/value of the blank disk media that it's been recorded on + accurate postage and handling - and the software must not be password protected. Now if I could find a site that offers 50 -100 meg with no bandwidth problems I'de be happy - but I wouldn't want my friends saturated with spyware,LOL.

You can try freewebs. I'm not sure if they cap bandwidth or not but they seem to be a pretty good host.
geocities caps, tripod caps, angelfire just sucks ass period, fortunecities is just down the toilet for a freebie, they cap, umm, what's left then lol? not much really sad, I need a homepage myself. Tripod UK used to be good, no restrictions not sure about their bandwidth though. Hw about netfirms? they used to be good, even had cgi capabilties. I havent checked themout recently but im sure they must cap too. not too many options left.

Have you contacted your ISP? They offer packages... free for a small amount, but usually reasonably priced for larger packages. I use www.bappy.com. I don't know how much you get for free space because I pay for a site of 200 megs which has worked for me for about 3 years now. I will have to upgrade to more this year though as my site has grown considerably from the time I started it. Have a look and see if there is anything there that can help you.

no good? did you try the search? That's what I use it for mainly. they have a forum that you can browse that offer up some new freebie hosting. or, you may have to buy a domain, and host it. it's really not that expensve anymore. you can get some hosting paackages for under 60 dollars a year, if you look hard enough. ;)

There is http://www.freehomepages.com/ that offer 50MB (maybe more) space with unlimited bandwidth. I guess you could always have more than one website. Many hosts allow that (I had 5 websites at iQuec for a few years and they even had a webspace where I could access all my websites from). France

What types of files may I upload? By default, you are allowed to upload files with the .html, .htm, .txt, .gif, .jpg and .jpeg. If you think that another file type may be supported by your host, try uploading a file of that type and an error will appear if it is not allowed, otherwise the file will upload. this is fom their FAQ, I didnt see zip extensions listed?

Tripod UK, lets you do any file types. you just have to put up with a side bar and a popup or two. Better than most hosts, they give you a free php database. I might end up there myself. You can host an American site too, 50 megs of space.
Maybe you'd best ask them before signing up. Then again, maybe THAT is the catch. ;o)

Birddie so far Fastpages.com is going good for me, easy to upload files and edit html a bit tricky gitting to it lol you need to go to www.freehomepages.com and choose which domain host you want go from there but I am waiting to see the catch behind the unlimited bandwith lol but hopefully i can get mugseys's site moved with no probs any more of exceeding limits pouts cuz her site never exceeded limits before oh wait yah it did woohoo i was popular! goes off to dump coffee out and take sleeping pills
I faced this one. My solution 1. Get a cheap hosting deal with your main domain stick only thumnbail images on this. 2. Then get multiple freebie mirrors which only hosts the files. About 4 or 5 does the trick. You might need an index or a simple page that says click here to avoid the rules like on angelfire. al

Hi folks - My bandwidth is frozen until April and nobody can get my freestuff till then - this is crapola! - does anybody know a free webhosting service that can hold quite a few files for folks to be able to get without seein that stupid SITE FROZEN - MONTHLY BANDWIDTH EXCEEDED stuff?
